City made a factual release of information without disclosing all of their details of the investigation. Ferguson didn't. The break Ferguson gets, is the City literally has more experience in such things.
But again, playing devils advocate, if we are dealing with rational and intelligent people, should dispersing information over a week versus a day change the game this much? If it does, then IMO that is more of a reflection on the people.

Jesse and Al's planes are being refueled as we speak.

if protest will start early enough to prove the LE guilty.
How does a protest prove anything? Not following.

These cases are different in sooo many ways. The first is no witnesses for the LE to back up his side of the story. Not much can be said early without this. What they did say still hasn't helped the situation.

On a normal day, they wouldn't give the PC THAT quickly.

Who is doing the PC? Did you catch a name?
Never heard mention of his name. They tuned in right before he started talking so he may have said it before that.

thought the cop is asserting he matched MB to the robbery leading to the 2nd contact. If so, Ferguson knew MB was involved in the robbery, no different that City knows this guy was
Still at store this time. Little different than having to review video vs owner or witness discription but nice try.
quote:
Cop is saying he was assaulted by MB. This guy had a knife. Both, as I've learned, are justification for using deadly force
More than one cop this time and may have even been recorded who knows. Either way, weapon there and not at other scene so not even close. It's way different.

Might have not been any conflicting statements and they might have been able to interview the witnesses already. I dont't know.
Not even close though man.

To some extent this is true. But perception is reality. Denying the way information is disseminated doesn't make your theory as to best disseminate information more effective. It makes it obsolete. We're in an Information Age where everyone expects their food in 2.5 minutes and internet answers on their phone within seconds. You can say that's a bad idea and that would be rational. But it is what it is.

Why would I assume they're covering things up when they're releasing info at a breakneck speed?
My point back on ~ p.225. Why did they do so in Fergeson?

It keeps them from covering up info. They do so to protect LE. 808bass told us so many pages ago.

I agree but very different circumstances than last week.
I don't think anyone is denying they're different circumstances. Won't speak for others, I'm just saying the City has more experience with these things and maybe Ferguson, next time, should take a page out of the City's book.

I agree with O'Meara that the prosecutor should recuse himself and ask for a special prosecutor... The leaders need to do anything they can to be hands off, so that when the officer is cleared, they can say "don't blame us".

Isnt that part of what the protesters argue shouldn't happen in relation to them and their culture? (rightfully so)

no question they jacked up the dissemination of information. No question. My point is that does not excuse the massive over reaction/rush to judgment and truly lack of caring of what the actual facts are.

I agree it is what it is because I have seen it the last 10 days. Doesn't make it right or scapegoat their behavior, ignorance, bias, hatred and opportunism.
Note: I am only using the harsh words above under the presumption that the act of delaying dissemination of information a few days changed how the majority of the protesters felt (as that is our working thesis here - if the information was given day one none of this would happen).
That is sad, pathetic and probably accurate. And the sad and pathetic part is not the cops (although the chief and such have been sad and pathetic in their own way).

You may call it that or it may be that I am using your own justification of this protest starting when it did. I'm just trying to find out which scenario is the right one based on your thoughts. So far both are.

This will greatly increase the chance of a trial. Be careful what you wish for.

Pretty cut and dry and easy to make a statement on.
I can guarantee you that every case I'm aware of that involved a police shooting and there was a crime committed by the deceased and there was an assault and/or weapon involved, the City gets out in front of things the best they can with that info. Regardless of the other circumstances.
