Maybe EMS was busy with another call. I'm not sure if EMS uses a "triage" type system to dispatch services or if it is more of a "first come, first serve" basis. Maybe GEAUXmedic can shed some insight?
you literally replied to the post of me explaining it. ems showed up minutes after. you can see in the video LINK at 3:15. The EMT places the monitor on him to confirm death, then calls the coroner. In cases of obvious death such as this, thats all you do.

I would imagine many of them will be arrested and we'll probably never hear about it.
LMAO Yes, we watched and didn't stop them but will hunt them down and secretly arrest them?
quote:
It might be a month from now or 6 months from now. The looters are known, the looters are videotaped, the looters even gave interviews.
Exactly, while the Captain had people rubbing his head for good luck, talking a mere 2 hours before this about how his approach was superior and thus there would be no more of this. Gotcha.
quote:
They can be rounded up at any point and I'd suspect/hope that that is done but at a time that isn't going to result in 10 more businesses get destroyed because of 1 arrest.
And this sentence is the exact argument for much more aggressive control of the city by the police. the exact thing everyone railed against for the week.
If a softer touch means sacrificing businesses and purposeful hateful crime then we have the exact rationale for initial approach. You cannot have the modus operandi be to appease crime.
Please only loot 3 stores or maybe 4 if you show good behavior - but if you hit 10 we will have to forcefully beg you to start being nice.
Precedent has been set.

So KSDK the local NBC affiliate, showed the Cops house and where he lived.
Absolutely fricking brilliant, people are killing them on social media, their lame apology is falling on deaf ears.

But I wish he'd have gotten back in his car and pursued them and possibly avoided a fatality
If in fact the suspect was charging the cop he's not going to get in his car and pursue, he's going to protect himself. He is given the power by law to use deadly force. Thats just how it is.

Why does can not mention that perhaps a culture change in needed among African American culture? They seem to keep blaming the police. What about a culture that sees prison as a rite of passage and police as the enemy.
the worst part is that this seems to be in a pretty nice neighborhood, its not like these guys aren't going to bed in a nice house, with someone who provides for them, have jobs, neighborhood stores......It's like they had all their gangsta clothes stored next to their school uniforms and work attire. Just hoping to go rogue.

Outside of Shugg, does anyone posting in here still believe that he was shot execution style, as he was raising his hands in surrender?
For the record, I personally don't based on what I've seen and read. Not saying I know for certain. Just curious about what others believe.
Based upon the changing story of Brown's friend, and the description he gave of the supposed execution, I would find it hard to believe that it happened that way 100%.
I can't really picture a policeman executing an unarmed person. Maybe, but I would kind of doubt it.

Talk about fueling the flame. I haven't seen a need to know his name, address, or picture. But there are those that act like it is going to help something to know. I don't get it.

Well that sucks. I support the death penalty but only in heinous crimes, which doesn't include robbery. So I wish he'd have just stayed in his car and waited for back up

You should probably wish MB didn't charge the officer too.

People don't get that ambulances don't transport dead folk. I've had ambulances transporting people home for hospice drop the deceased off because they've passed.

Yes, I guess I wish the whole thing had happened differently

@chriskingstl: Police command getting strategy together but 1 police official confirms to me 1st wave of looters was organized & not from protest group.

Then pull the hell out and let the city stew in its own juices. If straight our rioting and looting is not enforcement worthy then why be there at all.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, can be worse then having law enforcement purposefully and willingly watch such violent acts of crime and do nothing.

Yes after 4 hours the looters got tired and took their shite home. And contained? tell that to those who had their property destroyed... I bet they feel wonderful about this. But who cares about the innocent - atleast we did not put the thugs at risk. Atleast we didn't crazily arrest them or enforce the law.
You appear to be under the belief that the looters have been welcomed with open arms and given the green light when it's much more complicated for both sides.
The peaceful protesters put there own lives at risk to protect someone else's property simply so people like you wouldn't group them in with the animals and savages and you still find reason to judge. The police should have had a better plan from the beginning but due to their lack thereof the community stepped in to prevent the situation from getting worse. This means 3 stores were looted instead of several in addition to lives loss. It's called choosing your battles

So, really, it's looking like the Cop might of been justified. Still don't know.
Agreed, but even if it turns out he wasn't justified, that's different than shooting someone execution style while they have their hands in the air. And that is what is being alleged by the protesters. Think about that allegation. An execution of a surrendering person, hands up in the air. That's vicious.
quote:
But the 6-8 shots is where i have a problem, why??
That's the easiest thing for me to understand. The number of shots is meaningless when you are neutralizing a threat. It all depends on where the bullets hit. One bullet in a major organ can stop someone. 10 can hit a person not striking anything important, and they will still be alive. Once you determine the threat is deadly, I'm all for killing it, and making sure it's dead.

I can only speak for agencies I've worked at. If we get a call for cardiac arrest and there are no obvious signs of death and it has been within a reasonable time, we will work it, but at no point will we leave the scene with the patient unless we get a pulse back. The only exceptions for this are if the patient is a minor or if it's a dangerous scene, and only if we have worked on the patient. So in this case where there was obvious death, he wouldn't have been transported by ambulance, regardless of if it would have been a dangerous scene, or if he was a minor (which i know he's not)

Notice the prosector moves to convene a grand jury "within days" after the release of surveillance video & resulting violence.
So they already have the investigation done and are ready for a GJ?

There are other groups in the USA. Handling of situations can depend on how they normally act = profiling.
