Yup, there is no way there will be civil rights charges brought against him and I don't know if the St Louis Prosecutor will be able to get a true bill from the Grand Jury.

I think the only way it goes to trial is if the autopsy showed Brown was shot in the back. But that is coming into question as other things come out.

I get why people pick a side. And we all have our own biases. I fricking hate what our policing has become. Other people were cops or have cops in their family or work with cops. Or they are just predisposed to a "law and order" view because of their upbringing, experiences, etc. Other people see the racial thing very clearly because of their experiences or their race or because they're more of an empathetic personality.

Where that goes bad is when you can't even see or understand the other side. We all have biases. We all are going to lean one way. But when you can't or won't see the other point of view, that's when conflict turns ugly. And when that's face to face, as it in Ferguson, it's going to look like a war zone.

Is there really any scenario where the rioters could win?

Even with properly executed tactics and small arms, without reinforcement from the outside no riots would end in a victory other than police rule.

If they (the actual disciplined protestors, not the greed driven looters) could have prepared supplies and holed up somewhere (a stadium. A school. A public park.) with defensible, reinforced barriers, they could have drawn media attention to police militarization and actually done something.

But this racially driven "hands up don't shoot" (more like "I'mma taunt and charge your arse, don't shoot.") nonsense is getting annoying. Protest the militarization of the police state. Protest the epidemic of municipal forces using overly violent and expensive tactics to apprehend low level criminals.


Self police the looters and the culture that produces them.

Stop reinforcing negative stereotypes that only serve to perpetuate and justify further violence
