Did you even read what you wrote?
While trying to say that people need to be accountable for their actions you are absolving people from being accountable for their actions. The only thing is, you're choosing and picking which need to be held accountable and which don't.
Looters - Take accountability for your actions
Rioters - Take accountability for you actions
Fergurson PD - We will absolve you for any of your actions that were wrong or bad
Darren Wilson - We will absolve you of your actions simply because you're a white cop
I have a novel idea. Let's hold all of them accountable. How about we arrest and jail the looters. How about we fire and replace the Ferguson police chief who clearly and knowingly escalated a situation instead of de-escalating it. How about we do a full and thorough investigation of the cop before we say he should or shouldn't be charged.
And in the meantime, if people want to protest and say they don't trust their local LE, let them. We should be able to to that. If they want to protest and say we want answers, let them. We should be able to demand answers from our government. They may not like the answers but if that causes them to be taken out of the group of protesters and into rioters, then deal with them as such.
You can't pick and choose who needs to be held accountable and who doesn't. Go down that path too far and people might think you're racist.

The video could be said to be part of the investigation. Can't release or discuss details. FOIA be damned. Officer's name does not relate to the investigation and can/should be released within a reasonable amount of time. In a situation like this, I don't mind him getting some forewarning so he can protect his family

You might be missing a big part of the picture medic. Maybe take the time to let everything that happened last night sink in. I really think you would have a slightly different, but just slightly, if you had been on last night seeing it go down.
The community actually stopped the looting in most instances. Ran the looters off. I'm hardly seeing that being reported at all. That doesn't get ratings. The amount of looting that went on was miniscule as compared to what went on under Ferguson PD. In the meantime, what Johnson has done is, with minimal damage, created a situation where the community has now shunned the criminals and are asking the police to please come in. There was going to be blow back and violence and damage no matter what tactic used. I'm gonna hope and see if Johnson's way doesn't minimize it.

I don't think a single person is saying the cops should take responsibility for the looters actions. Every single one of the looters should be arrested and prosecuted.
What people are arguing is the actions of the cops to militarize the initial protests and then how the Chief has gone about disseminating information has added fuel to the fire and riled up the thugs.

That's an extremely ill-informed, generalistic statement to make about a place I highly doubt you've ever been. It's a mixed area, in terms of race and income. It's seen ups and downs over the years. But parts of it aren't bad. My uncle used to be a minister if a baptist church there, and my cousin served as music minister in that same church. They are white, the church has members of all races.
Are there bad elements? Absolutely. I wouldn't want to live there myself. But you can't generalize about the whole community. I would bet that a lot of the violence playing out on TV is from thugs who don't actually live there.
I think what we saw last night is residents of that community trying to take it back from thugs. Thugs are gonna go where they can cause trouble. Right now that's Ferguson.

Definitely... Are a majority of the protestor irrational when it comes to looking at the facts of the case and letting everything play out, most certainly.
But just because they are dumbasses doesn't mean that the cops should militarize the protests.
Now the separate group of trouble makers needs to be dealt with, but that doesn't require full tactical gear and military vehicles.
