What better way to honor his memory? Recreate his last moments. Rob the store and then get physical with a cop.

Is this what people saw during the Boston Tea party, during the revolutions?

I have honestly changed my position, seeing all of this.

This is just not about a police killing. It is about much more. Fighting back against an oppressive government. And that is something we can all relate to? Is it not?

Can anyone honestly step up and say that they have been happy with our politicians? This is just a trickle down. Do we want a police state and total control.

I don't agree with the looting and all of that, but at least they are standing for something, and I hope they don't back down. We could all stand to learn something from this.

For someone who told me to STFU, I like you.

I think you're projecting on to them more thought than they're giving it. I think they're nihilists and don't know it. They're not revolting. Surrendering to the void and saying life is meaningless isn't fighting a power structure. And acting basely in an animalistic sense doesn't bring positive change. I haven't worked all that out nicely and completely, but I don't think the looters have any raison d'être.

ETA: this doesn't apply to everyone there, obviously. It does apply to probably almost all of the looters. And some of the protesters.

They aren't standing for anything though.

They are standing up for a criminal who wasn't some Noble Robin Hood.
He was a thug

Well not everyone is on the same page. But not everyone is a part of a revolution, it takes a few to convince many.

It's not about Michael Brown. Well it is and it isn't. It's about a feeling of powerlessness, a lack of direction and purpose, a sense of hopelessness. I disagree with them on the solutions and the causes of those feelings. But I understand them.

I agree with you but I'm also seeing a lot of them that are trying, albeit losing, to take control over their community.
