Longtime lurker but I'm disappointed the OT hasn't discussed this. Link

The Diocese plans to move St. Louis from its current downtown location to the new Morganfield Subdivision, southeast of Lake Charles.

The Keep St. Louis High School on Bank St. Facebook page posted this gem on what they expect the old campus to turn into.

Separation of church and state, the LC govt. needs to keep their nose out of it.

I get people have an opinion and want the school to stay put for personal reasons but good lord you would think they are telling people they are converting to being a school for the wiccans.

Way past due. One should not be required to travel through a ghetto to obtain a Catholic education.

It took Katrina to fix that in the case of Holy Cross, which was in the Lower Ninth.

I’m assuming that the picture posted of what the school will be turned into is supposed to be a negative but why would turning it into and I quote “fine arse homes” be a bad thing for the area?

Separation of Press and State. All government entities need to remove journalism education, funding publications of any kind, prevent accommodation of the press or press conferences, etc.

You want to see and read something scary? The first word of the 1st amendment.

“Congress”

Besides the meaning of that being amended by the SCOTUS, wherever that is legal, any body that can legally pass a law, other than congress, can permit or not permit anything in the 1st amendment.

“Scary”

Try the 10th amendment. “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

The last four words of that have really been ignored.

Just a hunch, but is there a football stadium involved in the future St. Louis campus?

Otherwise, I don't see why a cow pasture is a more appealing location than the historic downtown campus.

Neighborhood is ghetto and T G & Y has been out of badness for 40 years.
Enrollment is under 600, bet diocese is trying to add enough physical plant to lure additional students.

I think it’s a combination of the new land was donated to the school and the current area limited how much the school could grow in the future. They have to start from scratch any way so might as well move to a new area so you can properly plan and design with things like traffic in mind.

I thought the school was in the middle of the hood and a somewhat garden district? I mean garden districts are usually pretty sweet, but being that close to the ghetto will they really pump a bunch of money in there?

In the same breath CHS and SJA ain’t too far from the hood in BR with garden districts on the opposite side of them.
