Even after “retiring,” the former principal still shows up on campus almost every day, giving orders to teachers and students like she never left.

She should have been arrested for trespassing then bc she had zero right to be on campus since she wasn’t a school employee. Ridiculous.

She’s an approved volunteer. Her kid is a senior.

But what are the parents going to do? Send their kids to public school? Ha!

Volunteers don’t have unrestricted access to campus , or keys.

So? Parents aren’t allowed on campus at any school I’ve been associated with except on special occasions.

I've seen employees of catholic private schools get fired for dating someone in the open and not being married. Stupid.

I honestly didn’t think this was a big story at first, but the more I’ve learned, the more I realize it really is. What’s happening here is just plain wrong and there’s a lot of shady stuff and power games going on that people deserve to know about.

Neither did the people who were working behind the scenes to push the principal out. They thought it was going to be "business as usual" and they did get what they want because she was fired, but you can't operate with those old tactics anymore. While I think social media is a net negative for society, it can also be used as a checks and balance.

And if you piss the wrong people off, its going to become a topic people, who are affiliated with that institution, will talk about on social media. Then if they can get a local/regional news/reporter to cover it then it brings the attention it probably needs if you are wanting to expose what's really going on.

And when a new priest comes it, its probably a good idea for them to evaluate things first. See how things are going with the administration in place then after the school year make changes. And why limit your candidates for a job like a school principal by only hiring someone who has worked at a Catholic school? You have to get out of the mindset of "this is how it has always been done".

quote:

Since the story hit social media, the priest has made things even worse by commenting on posts blaming parents and alumni for the school’s problems. He’s been publicly arguing with people who’ve supported the school for years.

Yeah. Someone posted, I think on facebook, something like "75% of the problems at private/catholic schools are caused by the parents". I am paraphrasing, someone told me, I don't have FB so I didn't see it. And the priest replied "I agree".

While I am sure there is some truth to that statement, as a priest and head of the school people pay to send their kids to, its not the smartest thing to do.

quote:

Then yesterday the school had mass and the Bishop had to come and ask everyone to forgive the Priest. How weak does this look that the Bishop has to come in to ask people to forgive the “leader” of the school? Not a good look for the Diocese

Wow! So when he ask them to forgive the Priest does that also mean he wants them to forget about it?

That's sends a message huh? "the priest did this... but we just need everyone to forgive him and move on because... well we don't have nearly as many priest as we used to"

There's no possible way to fix this other than the bishop coming in, transferring this new priest out and then likely shitcanning the entire upper half of the administration. Anything otherwise will keep it being a complete mess.

Bad part about it is the bishop knew about it and did nothing! How are Parents of St John Students supposed to trust the church and diocese after this? The diocese did nothing just let it happen. How can evil be the standard now a days? The diocese doesn’t wanna do anything faith or religious related! They worried about how they get money in they pockets! Sad world we live in.

Hmmm... Now that's a tough one. Duca was involved? Who's next up the chain? Gotta go over his head.

Maybe your school sucks but our administrators literally ask for input from parents. They want parental involvement

There’s a fine line between parental involvement and having 300 wanna be principals

Was the new priest previously connected to the parish, maybe a former vicar?

Seems odd a new priest would come in and immediately take that position without prior connection

1000%.

Some upper crust Plaque-maniacs (I also believe this is in itself an oxymoron) are raising hell because they’re not getting their way.

Or maybe people are tired of "business as usual" and are speaking up?

I say people and all I know is what I have heard, but it was evidently a person. Staff.
