And just like that as soon as Colomb gets her bill the announcement is made. Typical Louisiana politics

The St George organizers posted the first page of the response from the governor on Facebook.

Is a special election day or normal date?
Just gauging the whole "date that will normally get a lot of peeps to the polls" deal

Is this:
1) the vote to allow all parish voters to vote on St George or
2) the actual ballot that will allows those that live in the confines of St George to vote on creating St George ?

Cut Ed some slack. I already gave him a hard time this morning. He’s probably about to lose it.

Am I supposed to elaborate more on my post or something? Not sure why you're still replying to me

John Bel is a dumbass. He just made the St George area come out in droves to vote for St George and against him since he'll be on the ballot.

Hopefully there is early voting, LSU plays Florida on that date.

Good Question! According to the Official Proclamation from the Governor:
"NOW THEREFORE, I, JOHN BEL EDWARDS, Governor of the State of Louisiana by virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Louisiana, do hereby order and direct as follows:
SECTION 1: On Saturday, October 12, 2019, a special election shall be held IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREA of the parish of East Baton Rouge ..."
Not seeing anything about the rest of the parish. I could be wrong, but this to me makes it official and any bill not passed into law before this official proclamation would not supercede it.
ETA Edited. Got the date wrong on the proclamation. Thanks Supermoto Tiger

Best of luck to you St. George baws. I don't know if forming your own city is a good idea or not. But I have been absolutely disgusted by the tactics used against y'all, and would love nothing more for y'all to shove this vote right up their backsides.
