SPRINGFIELD —- A 43-year-old man is behind bars, accused of running a “distribution hub” out of Navarre’s Pastries in Livingston Parish.
Jules Navarre was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
On August 12, Louisiana State Fire Marshal agents and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies helped get a search warrant for Navarre’s Pastries in Springfield.
While executing the search warrant, LPSO says agents “uncovered a distribution hub for various narcotics including, cocaine, MDMA and Adderall.”

According to LPSO, agents seized about 42.8 grams of suspected cocaine; about 394 Adderall dosage units; about 200 suspected MDMA dosage units; smaller quantities of Vyvanse, alprazolam and diazepam; and anabolic steroids.
Investigators also seized 52 firearms, including one reported stolen through LPSO, as well as about $3,550 in cash that is pending seizure, the sheriff’s office said.

Navarre's isn't just a random storefront — it's a 20-year Springfield institution known for its king cakes, run by the family of Ernest "Ernie" Navarre, the local baker affectionately known as the "Donut King," who passed away earlier this year at 70. Jules kept the shop open after his father's death, posting a heartfelt thank-you to the community for their support during that time.

I'm going to miss their king cakes and hopefully this guy turns his life around. It's going to suck really bad for him after they add all the enhancements for those paw paw hunting guns.
Do they auction the guns off? I'd really like that Browning SA-22.

Had many of Ernie's breakfast platters while living down there. Im sure he's rolling over in his grave.
