The thread about women ruling the world gave me the idea for this thread.

The question: would the world be a better place if women still held the role they mostly held until the early 20th Century? Namely, primarily as wives and mothers who stay home to care for their family with no political involvement?

Discuss the pros & cons as you see them.

I don't know about the world but my home is definitely better by my wife staying home.

Yes.

Pro: Better home structure and family responsibility.

Con: less diversity in the work place contributing to less effective problem solving.

But how many problems are caused by having men and women working together?

Well I definitely think women should be allowed to vote, if that is what you mean by "no political involvement".

But I'll agree that traditional family structure does yield better outcomes for children, so yes, if more families held traditional structure, the world would be "better".

Less women in the workplace equals less problems that need solving.

Seems like having no political involvement isn't necessarily related to staying home.

There are certain jobs that women are objectively better at than men.

Well, when the US was building into a dominate world power, women didn't have a vote. Yet we survived them getting the vote.

But when women entered the workforce during WWII, so men could fight on two fronts, we never recovered. It's been downhill ever since. Their children became the hippies of the 60s. Who later became college professors.

Typically none if you keep your dick in your pants.

No. And this whole idea that women "stayed home" is a relatively modern idea when compared to the entirety of human history.

Well, legally, prostitution isn't a 'job' in most jurisdictions.

Laugh if you want, but if you think women used to sit around tending the cave back in the day, you're naive.
