For me it was a 12guage shotgun. It was my late grandfather's gun that he had signed his name on the stock with a bright yellow marker. He used to get on me when I was younger for being too skinny, so one Christmas he told me if I gained 10lbs by next Christmas, I could have his gun.
Next Christmas rolls around and I called him on his bet. He didn't remember because 1. he was old and 2. he was a little drunk when he made the bet. Luckily my uncle remembered and made him pay up.
It's bad enough that some POS broke into my place and stole it, along with a couple of other guns, but it's the fact that it was my grandfather's that he personally signed that gave it real sentimental value.

dipshit down the street stole my Mongoose Villain when i was about 12 out of my backyard one night. I locked it up almsot every night. Didn't that night. My dad tried to find it but didn't, and he got me a new one eventually but i didn't cherish it like the first one.
He had stolen a few other bikes in our neighborhood. We staged a coup one day and put all our bikes in the front yard one sunday evening when we saw the two dipshits riding on one bike scoping out the neighborhood to steal a bike. Sure enough, dipshit on the pegs hops off and runs to steal one of the bikes. We caught him, he ratted out his friend that got away, and they went to juvy.
few years later, i had moved, but was 16 and could drive. Came back to hang out with my friends and as i was driving down the street noticed the dipshit that had stolen our bikes had left his bike in his front yard and he wasn't outside. Went park my car down the street, ran to his house and took his bike. Went to my friends and we cut up the bike as much we could. Fit all the contents into a small box. Even got my friends dad to help cut up the frame of the bike once he figured out what we were doing. Then i went on the back road behind dipshits house and left the box at their backdoor.
that dipshit has been arrested multiple times as an adult, attempted murder was the last one. I am genuinely scared of him. I also ran him off his bike while i was in my car and made him fall into a huge canal off the side the road one day. He isnt' fond of me to say the least, and the feeling is mutual, and i haven't seen him since i ran him into that canal about 15 years ago. I hope i never see him again. Not sure what he would do if we ever met again, but i don't want to find out.

Nintendo 64. I lived in a shady part of town in my younger years. The next door neighbor was a guy who shared apartment with his mom. Go figure. Dude was always drinking and didnt have a job. So im at work one day and get up the next morning to play some Nintendo and its gone. Everything was still there except the Nintendo 64. I knew he stole it because he had been in my place before i knew he was a lowlife and he knew My door had issues.I couldnt prove it and even the cop said he thinks he stole it but could do nothing. Thats all i got as far as big. Had my car broken it a few times but they got nothing.

Had my Air Dyno stolen off a friend's front porch. Went and bought another bike the next day with my saved up allowance and grass cutting money. Had that one stolen a few days later when I was inside Blockbuster to go rent some Nintendo 64 games. 2 bikes in less than a week

A few years ago my stupid arse left my truck unlocked and someone stole my classic iPod (which they don't make anymore), a Buck knife, my PRESCRIPTION sunglasses, and an unopened roll of Skoal. I was most upset about the iPod. Fortunately they didn't find my 1911.
To this day I always double and triple check that my truck is locked.

When I was a young fella in Louisiana, I had my Cassette collection stolen from my car. It was in a fine faux leather case. I'm still a bit pissed about that 35 years later.

I once had a guitar stolen - a 1974 Fender Stratocaster. Amazingly the police found it when they raided the home of a suspected drug dealer and returned it to me. I still have the evidence tag hanging from the headstock.

My faux leather CD case with about 200 CDs in it was stolen out of my truck when I was at LSU along with my radio.

When I was at LSU, I was on way home to Mandeville and stopped off in New Orleans for a few minutes for an appointment. Had a big basket of dirty clothes with me so I stuffed my pistol and $400 cash from work that I was going to deposit down in the dirty clothes. Some motherfricker broke into my car to steal my dirty clothes basket. Guess they got the surprise of a lifetime. They also got my box of cassette tapes.

I had a 1938 WW2 German Luger my Grandfather brought back that was stolen when my house was burglarized in 2003. My wife and I had taken the kids to Gulf Shores for a week and came home to an almost empty house. They stole all our electronics, jewelry, appliances and my entire gun safe containing 13 long rifles and 4 handguns. We lived in the country at the time and our nearest neighbor was close to a mile down the road so of course no one saw anything. They must have spent at least an hour in the house stealing everything that wasn't nailed down and even left ruts in my lawn where they backed up to our back door to load everything! We had great insurance so everything taken was easily replaced other than the Luger but I still get sick to my stomach when thinking about it. Some POS crook took an irreplaceable family heirloom that meant everything to me but they likely traded it away for some Crack or Methamphetamine. I Can't stand a thief!!!!!!
