Or mafia/mob books detailing in general.

Guess from the end of WW2 through Vietnam era would be the most interesting time period considering that was one of the more recent periods where they seemed to still be very active.

Mafia Kingfish

quote:

Carlos Marcello was named the prime suspect in the assassination of JFK. John Davis tells Marcello's whole sinister story for the first time: from his roots in Sicily in the early 1900s, through his violent apprenticeship in the New Orleans Mafia to his reign over a $2-billion-per-year criminal empire.

The books about the FBI Donnie Brasco operation are about as good as it gets if you want to read what it was really like.

Agree. Mafia Kingfish is the best book I have seen although there have others since. Davis is a Kennedy cousin, and this may be what the family believes.

I don't really enjoy reading or read very often. I couldn't put this down, very much enjoyed it.

For fiction almost any of the James Lee Burke novels - Robicheaux is always fighting mob figures in the city.
