The "divorced" one is a bigger red flag but the other option is still a pretty big red flag.

I get you are saying. I got married at 25 divorced by 29 while I lived in Baton Rouge. Living in Texas now and noticed in Houston, Dallas and especially Austin that there were alot of people still not married at 37.

all women are massively flawed

just divorced twice by 35 seems like higher up on the crazy scale than "career minded, woman power chick"

I've met a few girls that I would have given a go at. But as a majority, I tend to agree that I'd be leary

Yup. I think the average age of people getting married in NYC is 29 for women, 30 for men.

I'd like to see that number with just college educated and above.

I cannot understand why, other than family pressure.

It's interesting when my friends from home come up to visit me in Chicago. They all got married in their mid-20's (and started dating their wives either in college or right after). There are three of us in our group who are not married, and we live in NYC, Chicago, and San Diego.

They're all in their late 20's now, and they go kind of nuts when they come here (and are not around their wives)...almost like they don't know how to handle themselves around all these single women in their 20's. They're happy people, and there are some things about their lives that I envy, but they're like cooped up pitbulls when they come here. There is absolutely no reason to get married before 28 or 29 in a place like this. I walk by ten beautiful single women before I even get to my train stop every morning.

35 and never married is fine. They could have been working, travelling, dated someone for a while, but didn't get married, etc

This and it isn't close. Divorced once, not so much. Twice is a big red flag though.

Lots of people fall into this category, especially in big cities filled with bright career types. I guess if you grew up in some tiny town in the swamps it's a big red flag though.

It's probably even higher. I know my wife (from NY) got out of law school at 25, and her first law school friend to get married did so at 28. The majority of her friends still aren't married, and they are 32,33,34. Having kids in the city really sets you back financially, so a lot of people hold off until they can make it work money wise. I don't know what day care costs in NOLA, but in Manhattan it's easily 2.5k+/month, plus your $2500/month average rent(for a 1 br). Most people can't afford that until they are well past 30.

None of the above and came from a smaller town.

I'll go with 35 and divorced twice.

I'm 31 and never married because I chose to enjoy my young life with loads of fun and didn't want to get married to a girl just because its the thing to do.

It is a bit different with women because most don't share that point of view, but I'd rather not have a girl that just itching to get married like the twice divorced girl would suggest.

Are you suggesting that a 35 year old never been married woman would not be "itching to get married?"

The illustrious former Mrs. Sheep might give it a run - if she isn't 35 yet.

That would really depend on her stance on kids. If she doesn't want kids....no biological clock to make her feel like she has to marry by a certain age. I have single friends near 35 and older....none of them seem to be in any hurry to marry and just basically do what they want and enjoy life. One said she might want kids but isn't that worried about it.
