Not being a snob but I don't know of any crossover that would be fun to drive for long distances. I'd look for comfort and amenities over fun factor if you're going to be driving a lot.

Bought a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium for my son's first car and I love to drive it. I am 6'4 and it is very comfortable for me to drive. Nobody can sit behind me though.

Had an bmw x3 when my truck was in the shop. It had a hitch receiver and even though I wasn't supposed to use it to tow I did. It was pretty nice vehichle. Not sure what they cost. Probably in the 30s

Wife has a loaded 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD and loves it. Not a bad little car. My only complaint is the passenger seat doesn't go back far enough for me. I'm 6'2" amd my knees hit the dash, even with the seat back as far as I can get it. No room issues with driving it though.

I think it looks like a minivan, but my wife's Traverse is both comfortable and roomy. It has 285hp or something like that so it moves well for what it is. I've never truly enjoyed driving a crossover, but the Traverse/Acadia is at least tolerable for me.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the new Jeep Cherokee. You can get one fully loaded for around $30k and they start in mid $20k range. Are they having issues?

Shouldn't be an issue unless you're in the passenger seat. You could check that out at the dealer though, as the 2016's may have changed the issue. There's plenty of room for the seat to go back further, the track just doesn't allow it.

Don't believe this. My wife has a 2015 also. I'm 6'3 and I have tons of room. I don't even have to put the seat back all the way. And there is usually always an adult riding behind me.

Then you have short legs, or I have long legs. My knees are in the glove box with the seat all the way back.

Currently have a Durango. Bought a 2014 model in March 2015 as company car. V6, leather, sun roof, pretty nice. All in for right at $30K. 28-30mpg on the interstate with the eco deal turned on.

Drive a 2016 Subaru Forester and love it. Lots of room, drives well, does well off road.
