seriously, there is no money in it. If you take a fee your client is pissed because they only end up with a portion of the money they need to fix their problem.

I'm a personal injury lawyer as well. I work for one of the partners on his cases, and I am developing my own caseload. The plan is for me to spin off and be autonomous within the firm in 2-3 years.

It is stressful, but I'm learning to manage it. I do feel lucky in that I feel like I am getting exposed to stuff that most guys three years out are not getting exposed to. My boss trusts me and gives me a long leash (with which I have not yet hung myself ).

I'm in a very similar spot. Except I really don't want to spin off because he brings in a shitload of business and lets me leach on it.

Sounds like you knew or in the excercise of reasonable care should have known of the defect.

Sounds like a dangerous area and any ordinary, prudent shopping center owner, in similar circumstances would have paid for additional security measures to thwart criminals.
