I was hoping for the improved commercial

VW Beetles used to be everywhere. Now, you rarely ever see them.
Wasn't 2017 the last year VW made them?

That’s an RX 300 That model and color was everywhere back in the day, but I haven’t seen one in years
The 330 and 350 are its successors, you occasionally see a 300, but most of them are gone.

BMW Z3:
Yeah out of production, never super popular, and the second hand owners didn’t take care of them.
It’s a shame that small, light roadsters aren’t as popular as they used to be. These things are designed to do nothing but make you smile.
The Z4 is leaving production too.

The 2019 model year was the final production year for the Volkswagen Beetle. Production of the last modern Beetle, a Final Edition model, ended on July 10, 2019, at the plant in Puebla, Mexico.
For the original air-cooled Type 1 Beetle, the final production year was 2003, when the last of over 21.5 million units rolled off the same Mexican assembly line.

I always thought the cab-forward Chrylser lineup in the mid 1990s was pretty nice looking. Nothing wild but certainly a lot more exciting than a Chevy Lumina or Toyota Camry. I think age, typical Chrysler quality, and cash for clunkers killed them.

3rd Car: Triumph TR8.
Sweet. Aluminum Rover v8. MG also put one in the MGB. It was lighter than the cast iron 4cyl.
The 215 V8 originated at GM and was introduced in 1961 for selected Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac platforms. Oldsmobile produced a turbo "Jetfire" version in 1961. GM gave up over the cost of producing the all aluminum engine versus much cheaper cast iton plus their castings were so porous they leaked coolant and oil. Rover bought the tooling in 1965 and fixed the casting problems. Great little engine
