13 year old Min Pin gets this:

Previously used to be on Royal Canin. Her shits are more solid (not runny) now.

11 month old Doberman gets this:

Previously used to be on Royal Canin and Acana. Royal Canin was better on her stomach, but not as good for her skin. Acana was better for her skin, but tore up her stomach.

Purina Bright Minds. He tolerates it if you put something on it like gravy. He's allergic to so many things, it's hard to find something he likes that he can eat. He's allergic to salmon, which rules out a lot of dog foods. He likes Pro Plan but he's allergic to it. Big male lab, but a picky eater. Never seen a big dog so wary about what he will eat.

damn.

my dogs get the 55lb green bag of purina dog chow and my vet said that year after year thats the best thing out there and people are just wasting money on all the fancy boutique dog foods.

eta bonus my 1yo gets in there every morning and eats 2 fistfuls of it before i stop him.

We recently made the switch to a company called Nature's Select, and we order through a couple on their facebook page at LINK

They hand deliver the bags of food to our door step usually within a day or two from when we order. The dogs love it and they have been great people to deal with.

Yep. She hasn't run away yet so I guess she likes eating it... plus whatever scraps I toss out the door.

Wow, I thought all of you OT ballers would feed your dog's nothing but prime Angus steaks, free range chicken and fresh salmon.

She died last month from cancer, so no. But she was 14 year old lab and pretty much slept/hung around all day due to her age and the cancer.

ETA: Why? I have a pup on the way in June and was planning on feeding him the same thing.

Ah, sorry to hear that.

The reason I ask is I was at PetSmart and the Blue rep was there stocking or whatever and told me the Wilderness line is very high in protein, so much so that it can be dangerous for a dog that isn't a performance/ hunting, etc (affects the kidneys). If its just a regular pet with normal or low activity rates she told me to get one of the other Blue lines. Anyway just regurgitating what I was told.

PS - maybe discuss with your vet when new pup arrives

We have seven year old Havanese.

We mix the Blackwood with the Royal Kanin shi tsu, and drizzle chicken broth over it.

ah got ya, didn't know that. Well the new pup is going to be a duck dog so he'll burn that protein pretty easily.

Yeah, I make sure my vet approves the food
