This is not the Internet. It is the OT.

Completely different.

Real Question.

You are 51 and recently retired living in your ideal location and looking at 20-30 years of retirement doing what you want when you want.

Then you find the recordings.

If you get divorced you lose half your assets and on the hook for child support and will have to go back to work.

Do you confront the wife or just live and let live?

Honestly believe that is kind of where he was the last 3 years. Thinking half might be gone anyway. Last night he said she has made little snarky side comments to him about half is hers anyway

I know couples that have "let live" but that still imo requires some honest and mutually agreement. That doesn't exist here. You could catch her with cock in mouth and she would lie about it. Kind of human she is.

I’m calling BS on this simply from a data storage perspective. Either those were some marathon sessions, or she used thumb drives from 20 years ago.

Don't get what you are saying.

She was recording on her phone then transferring audio files to various thumb drives to get them off her phone.

There isn't really anything to call BS on. Highly doubt my best friend called me at midnight to tell me a fantasy story about some thumb drives. He has been looking for stuff for a while just didn't think she would leave something in her purse and never looked.

He moved all his firearms into the gun safe in the garage.

Texted me earlier about how he should handle the fact she has a small pistol. I said it would be a shame if she lost that somehow.

He doesn't seem as torn up as relieved he finally caught her.

frickkkkkkkk that. Scorched earth is only acceptable approach. Get a damn good lawyer, play your cards extremely close to your chest (ops buddy already fricked this up) and be ruthless. Don't say shite till the lawyer says to. She might get half, but she already has at least half now.

He should never bring up the thumb drives, or her infidelity. He should just tell her that he’s fallen out of love with her and that he’d like to divorce. Simple as that. Never bad mouth her to their kids, never make it about anything other than he simply doesn’t want to be with her anymore. People change...just take the blame and move the frick on. Really the only way to do this with dignity.

You’re either a better man than me or a moron. Undecided.

If she has been serially cheating on him for years, presumably she is very dissatisfied in the relationship and would welcome a divorce. But experience teaches that couples become vicious and ruthless about the children and money in a divorce. In most states, the fact of her infidelity would not technically be relevant to either the disposition of assets or the custody determination, but judges are human and impacted by emotion.

I'm not certain you can attribute her behavior to anything uniquely feminine. Some human beings - men and women alike - simply love sex and become obsessed with the thrill and affirmation and arousal of new conquests. For some people, sex is a vocation, a source of meaning. Those people probably shouldn't be married, especially at a young age. Although I will admit that women have a greater capacity to successfully conceal their indiscretions for long periods.

Black mailing individuals with sexual media is more wide spread than you would think. I'm no longer in LE, but this is a common practice in commercial espionage and it's utilized extensively by the mob. It's so bad in Europe that interpol has their own division for it.

Do you know if she has any ties to any shady characters? Find out if she has any bank accounts he doesn't know about.

It's probably not the case here, but if she has a handler and that individual feels like his operation has been compromised. There could be an element of risk there.

Your friend really needs to Google WWW.Hammertime.com. I think he's running a Memorial Day special this week. It will be clean as a Safeway Chitlin and cost about as much as a set of braces... You're welcome.

Apparently, she gets off on the cheating but is using the audio to blackmail those men if needed. Allegedly, it turns out she did this with her past boss and this is what he thought he caught her in before but had no real proof.

This is how Jeffrey Epstein began.

if not already, he needs to get a game plan for DNA testing for his kids. Maybe Ancestry or something.

If you’re married 25 years, and he’s retired at 50, how can her credit be shite? Did they not talk about finances throughout a quarter of a century of marriage? Does she have credit cards that he doesn’t know about (that she will say was used for groceries for the household/kids and he will be responsible for)?

Good advice but he’s likely still gonna be giving her half unless he has a prenup. Very good advice on not confronting her. Another bit of advice is don’t go cheap on a lawyer. Get the best you can find. Preferably a woman that’s a bulldog.
