I would spring extra for first class if they boarded last. On the plane the least amount of time is always my goal. On last and off first would be true first class.

What a waste of time that is.

as I have gotten older, I have gotten to where I want to be around large group of people less and less. as someone who has traveled for work 25 years, I have gotten to where fighting through security behind people who do not know how to prepare for xrays, delays in TSA, flight delays, mechanical issues, people that insist on talking to you, being crammed into a flying tin can for hours on end with people that Carry on hot Tuna Melts for you to enjoy the smell of....

or

getting in my car, putting on music and just enjoying the relative peace and quiet in driving. that is where it is at for me. traffic? sure you hit traffic and still possible delays, but if I have to fly from Bham to somewhere and have a 3 to 4 hour delay to get there, and i could make the drive to arrive sooner - I will drive each and every time.

besides the Mileage check for driving is pretty sweet.

I will get in line about 10 minutes before boarding. Often I am the first one. I like to stand as much as possible since I’ll be crammed in an airplane seat for potentially hours

The faster you get on the plane, the longer you’ll be crammed on said plane.

What's your point? Do you not think you will live to be old?
What difference does it make?

I hang out at the closest bar and am generally last to board.

Never understood the people that can't wait to board or the absolute jackasses that stand up immediately after landing just yo wait 15 mins to deboard

I like to stand 20-30 minutes before a long flight, but I'm not bothering if the plane isn't there. That's just being in the way of the people that will be deplaning.

Hey moron, in first class you can board last if you want to.

Formerly, one of the benefits of sitting first in first class was the talent review that passed by you.

Nowadays there’s so much wretched refuse in the back of the plane that there aren’t many diamonds amongst the lumps of coal.

ZERO

Unless you're on Southwest, which sucks donkeyballs, you have an assigned seat. Show up before departure, have a seat, when the call the group before yours, casually gather your things and head for the line. When your group is called, go down the chute and take your assigned seat.

There is little need to deviate. It gets you nowhere.

Related issue: WTF is wrong with people that are in row 267 deciding to bum rush the front of the plane when you land and hit the gate??? Totally rude. I've started standing up just to block them unless they have a tight connection, which is a different story altogether.

I know a guy that does that. He wears a Rolex, I tell him my phone has the same time as his Rolex. He is a narcissist.

Unless you’re first class, I don’t understand why people wanna get on a miserably cramped plane so early. I try to be one of the last on.

You make a good point, but I'll rebutt it with saying that if overhead is full, you can usually free gate-check a bigger bag. That's always nice if you are connecting, especially if the connection is less that 45 minutes or over 2 hours.

Also, I travel LOTs and a soft duffell with a good shoulder strap will fit just about anywhere. 1-2x/year I get in a jam and this dude goes right under the seat wih 4-5 days of clothes and crud in it.
