Speakers built to impress...........

Ok here is the deal. I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on a serious (to me anyway) set up of Definitive Technology speakers. Mind you I want good driving music as well as great surround sound speakers. Looking at the BP-9060 tower speakers and a 9060 center channel. Also the two Dolby Atmos speaker inserts. This setup sounds great. Around 3k.
Now the question. Is it possible to get the same quality for less than $3000.00? If so please do not be afraid to get specific.
And yes this is cross posted but let's be honest, this board gets way more traffic then the music board.

Speakers are inversely proportionate to your dick size. You may want to get the biggest speakers you can find.

I have a set of towers that are 6 years old or so. I think they are the 8080. No problems and they are awesome. They are in my Media room and we don’t use it that much but well worth the $ IMO

You can spend as much money as you’ve got on speakers but if you cheap out on a receiver, you’ve wasted money on speakers.

While I am not knowledgable enough about speakers to respond to this thread, having been a DJ for HS dance parties, HS dances, etc when I was in my late teens, early 20s.. I know this is true.

Just picked up a pair of Monitor 11s from audio lab to replace monitor 7s lost in katrina. Apparently, paradigm is clearing out the monitor series for a new version.

I know you're joking, but I don't think you realize to what extent. It would legitimately cost you 1.2 to 1.5 million to do this. Per room.
The speakers, comparatively speaking, are the cheap part, at a quarter million a piece.

Just make sure you blast rap really loud. it is impressive to both males and females. So few people blast rap that you’ll be very unique.

Look at the Jbl Everest series. I've had the same set for about 12 years now, and they are still amazing.

i design and build my own speakers which i'd put up against speakers over double the cost any day

just saying that building them is a neat hobby and you can get great sound for cheaper
