SpaceX...What a great time to be young and in Louisiana!

I've never given a thought to "I wish I were young again", until now. The more I read and learn about Starbase Louisiana the more exciting it is. I've never liked Gov. Landry, but damn, the future is going to be incredible here.
I've heard the awfulizer, luddites, boomers young and old, "this is going to ruin crabbing" complaints, let 'em bitch. We considered it a great year is LSU wins big, now the future will be defined in Louisiana.
If you are not excited for this, too bad.

Elons a pretty undeniable force. I’m optimistic that even Louisiana won’t be able to frick this up

You’re assuming any of this will actually get built. I don’t share your confidence. Louisiana has largely beaten the optimism out of me over the last twenty years.

As much as I like Elon, you sure you want to use the word “won’t”?

You should read all the whining about destroying our way of life down here.

Venture Global, Woodside, Commonwealth and Meta have all been greenlit under the current administration.

Your pessimism is unwarranted, just pray nothing happens to Elon.

Venture global broke ground in Calcasieu in 2019 and Palquemines Parish in 2022.

Pretty much my sentiments for Landry and Trump as well, but I do like what they've done so far.
So unless something changes, I'm on both their sides.

Please, I love places like Abbeville, Basile, Cutoff, but do we want Louisiana to be a quaint museum, or the key to the future?

Never underestimate this State's ability work against itself.

It’s incredible especially when you have a child that just graduated in Physics and is now getting a masters in Engineering at LSU. Elon has been an inspiration to her for a long time along with her High School Physics teacher.
Anyone have insight of how long this will take to build? Somewhere between 1-5 years. Hoping closer to 1-2 years.

I'm with you. The most ironic part is that some of the ones I see complaining about Starbase are also the ones who continuously lament the loss of young, college-educated people to out-of-state jobs.

Sportsman's Paradise with a competent government would be pretty sweet. We're not likely to grow any more of those wetlands. That said, I acknowledge the potential. I've bitched for 30 years that Louisiana doesn't do anything to try and slow the brain drain. I should probably shut up when they do. But it's hard not to be jaded.

Get your daughter married and having children boomer. She could have smart kids and let the boys work for Elon.

Not on board with the trial lawyers and the litigious nature. But the skeptic in me has to wonder what these exclusions for the aerospace industry involve.

This, and why does the administration still back the trial lawyers sham coastal litigation lawsuits?
If some junk from a rocket falls on someone’s house and damaged their home, they can’t sue, but Nungesser and Carmouche are still encouraged to fleece Chevron, et al for $700 Million?
So I don’t feel bad for the trial lawyer industry at all. They’re still being allowed to go after other industries in the state will full force and backing of the 4th Floor.
