if you do it every weekend? yea. Now if its like an LSU bar to go watch a certain game or event no. Like if its a saints bar and you go there to watch the game, no its not trashy. Getting there at 10 and staying til 2 every friday and saturday getting hammered, is trashy as frick.

But if you are going out every weekend to the same bar or same 2 or 3 bars, that pretty damn trashy and you are prolly an alcoholic.

If going to the bar to chase pussy is the highlight of your weekend every weekend then you need to reevaluate your life. Every single person I know/have known that does this is trashy as hell.

However, if you live there too long, it will get old because it's the same thing over and over again. The local gentlemen are degenerates of a different breed who like to fight in bars a lot. The local ladies are very slutty, , and have babies at a young age without being married, which is great for a good time, not much else. Most people who love lake Charles are actually born and raised in lake Charles.

How is this difference from any place else?

Downtown eat @ Luna, Blue Dog,1910, Tia Juanita's. Across from Luna is Luna Live which has good music. Down from St. Patrick's Hospital is 121 Artisan Bistro-also very good. By the lake off interstate Steamboat Bill's has good seafood. South Lake Charles-- good plate lunches from Nina P's or Hackett's.

We are getting a super Kroger off of Nelson by the end of the year. For my sausage & specialty meats I go
to Rabideaux's in Iowa & buy the sausage there. They also have stuffed roasts, chickens etc. I love their smoked boudin & cracklins.

We have the Waitr app, now a lot of restaurants are on there. Delivery to your door. It's great, especially while stuck @ work. There is a new legit Italian restaurant on Nelson- La Voglia( not a chain). New butcher shop off Country Club called Prime Cuttery. Nice fresh cuts of meat & one of the best burgers. Also good poboys too.

Lake Charles is growing a lot. I'm Cajun & don't get the country insults about LC. I lived in Monroe for college & that made me appreciate LC. Just give it a chance

City Market is a new meat market on Michael deBakey with good sandwiches, salad bar, small market and good cuts of meat. Cool building too.

Its not any different. Just some people can't find anything to do but goto bars. I wish people understood there is a whole other world out there.

We poke fun at our family who now lives in LC but really it's becoming a nice place to raise a family. Big Lake, Toledo Bend isn't to far, and nice restaurants popping up everwhere. There's $ to be made there for sure.

Like hanging out at the Whole Food bar, sipping on a craft beer, thinking you are all that and a bag of chips?

Everyone who hangs out with their friends on a weekly basis is trashy? Maybe you're just older than me or something. I'm in my late 20's and a lot of my friends are still in school (professional school or med school) and they like to hang out. We hangout pretty much every weekend whether it be at a bar, a brewery, happy hour, one of our homes, a music festival, sporting event, etc... And we're probably having a few beers in the process.

If you find that trashy I find that hilarious. Sorry there isn't much to do in Westlake.

I'm from LC, graduated from Barbe, and would move back if the jobs were plentiful. I'm not a plant operator or teacher, so the possibility is limited.

What you just described is not trashy at all and was exactly my point and exactly what i do when we get together(which isnt as often now that everyone has kids)

I was speaking of the guys who go the the same bar or same set of bars every Thursday, friday and Saturday and then complain they see the same trashy people every time. I know people who have been going to OBs and sitting at the bar every friday and Saturday for the last 3 or 4 years. Thats fricking trashy.

I know a group of girls in their mid to late 30s that goes out to blue martini every night and have for the last year. Everyone is divorced and has kids and everyone of them complains they cant meet a nice guy/all guys are assholes. Its because they go and get so fricked up every weekend they can barely walk, acting like trash, attracts trash even in higherbend establishments like blue martini.

There is nothing wrong with drinking every weekend and i would expect most people to have atleast a beer or two on the weekend.

What i meant was there is a whole world out there besides traditional bars.

I'll be in LC for Easter weekend and I will get some boudin from the Nelson road market basket. I love my city and I wish I could move back. Just not enough white collar jobs for me and my wife.

Oh, okay. Yea, we don't even frequent the same bar enough to know anyone outside of a couple bar tenders at the brewery. Chances are we're probably going to end up at some type of bar at least once a week though.

What do you do? There are tons of white collar jobs here, just have to know where to look. The plants have white collar jobs too, just a little fyi.

I'd rather drive an hour to Lafayette once a month for a festival than an hour every day for work
