Understand statistics. On a per mile basis and per hour basis you are much more likely to die or be injured in your way too the airport than during takeoff, flight, or landing.

If it's of any solace, you have an exponentially greater chance of death traveling to the actual airport then you do flying from one airport to another

I've never seen that claim actually vetted out. We spend a whole lot of hours in cars and there are a tremendous number of cars on the road. I dont buy it.

Only bad thing about SW is the boarding process and all the fatties.

Pay the $40 at the gate and upgrade boarding. You'll be in one of the first 4 rows and avoid the cattle call.

I prepaid for this I think.

There are thousands and thousands of car accident related deaths in this country every year

Guess how many people died in domestic commercial air travel incidents last decade

I can’t help it man. Extreme anxiety has a way of changing your personality. It makes you assume that the absolute worst-case scenario is going to happen no matter how much you try to convince yourself it won’t.

I watch the crash scene from "Flight" and figure my crash won't leave anyone alive and just relax.

Just one more example of why I’ve decided unless I’m crossing an ocean, I’m driving.

Is there an airline anywhere on earth that hasn’t completely cheapened out on aircraft maintenance?

This is becoming an entire industry problem

Or better yet, watch United 93. That movie kept me up for several nights when I first saw it. Crazy movie.

I make a game of it. Kind of like a BINGO of sorts. It consists of which parts fall off. First one to connect five wins.

Sometimes, if we forget the cards, we just set odds. Pro tip: there's very little money to be made betting on the small, insignificant shite like bolts and Afghanis.

Oh....wait....

Next time fly the cheese wagon of the skies and save a few bucks on Spirit.

I booked two tickets to Vegas a few weeks ago and the price for the tickets and a bag was less than one Southwest flight.

Spirit flies Airbus A321’s.

DEI is very likely a contributing factor along with the management that think it's a good idea instead of a pure engineering and pilot merit system.
