Imagine in your minds eye all of the airliners racing across the globe right now, at this very instant

Think of the thousands of flights every day with no incident. Even 3rd world countries manage to keep their planes in the sky. If you happen to go down on a plane your number was simply up. I feel much safer on a flight than I do on the 8 and a half hour trip that I take to visit family in Shreveport from Nashville.

I’ve tracked my own flights before to see if it helps. It helps a little bit although it doesn’t completely ease the anxiety

Not sure how this helps. Most planes flew without incident until that one time they didn’t.

How do you deal with the pre-flight anxiety? I’m worried that the anxiety is going to be so bad that I’m going to lose my fricking mind inside the terminal while waiting to board. Flight anxiety is the worst.

It's comforting to me knowing if I die, I am probably dying with 100+ other people. Makes the potential unavoidable outcome a bit easier to swallow. So I sleep like a baby.

I usually fly American, but have a Southwest flight to Orlando coming up because they're the only airline with a direct flight. I'm not feeling great about it.

I was on Southwest flight SWA 4273 to Orlando last week, when we hit severe turbulence which caused an emergency landing in Tampa. Two people were injured, a flight attendant and passenger. Flight Attendant broke her hip. The plane dropped +700 ft while traveling 566 mi/hr. The flight made national news. I was following on FlightAware at the time, crazy shite to say the least.
