You are starting to see the impact of Elliott and their activism in threatening a takeover of SWA.

I’m the customer who complains about incessant layovers and terrible snack options.

When do they start assigning seats? I read the article, but it didn't mention a date. I have already booked flight through March of next year.

Flew them heavy for a couple years, if you got the A list seating all was good. Not Delta but better than the Spirits. Always had flight options.
The non assigned just makes the luggage (people bringing in too much shite) and seating for people on late a bit chaotic.

TIL SW didn't assign seats.

I live in Atlanta and prefer Delta because there’s always direct flights available. I’m sure that’s more towards your point about location. My travels for work take me all over the country, mostly Seattle. It’s already a 5 hour plus flight, which can take as long as if not more than 12 hours to get there after one or two layovers. That’s absurd. I can find flights on Delta within $100 of the cost difference so SW isn’t winning any favor considering I would lose a day of work in exchange for such a minute difference in price. Plus, the worst part is the return flights from SEA to ATL they schedule between 5am and 7am with layovers that end up arriving in Atlanta at midnight. We can agree to disagree, because our experiences are certainly different, but I’m not out of line.

One thing I don’t see mentioned in that excerpt is the amount of fake preboarders that Southwest deals with. That has led to a lot of dissatisfaction with the customer base.

Good try ya count.
I’m just suggesting they add more variety.

They should LOOK at their customers and spread those dividers further apart.
I had to fly SW on Tuesday since Delta shite the bed, and only 2.5 fat fricks were able to stand in the A1-5 space. Over 10 people in wheelchairs boarded ahead of that with their extended families, so why even bother paying the extra $40 for advance boarding?

100%… if they solved this, I’d bet the 80% unhappy with no assigned seats would drop below 50% and save them some money.
Should require a doc note to pre board. Exact reason for my jet bridge Jesus comment. People are cured of their ills once they get past the gate agent

Rockstar Complex hit it on the head. You pay the extra money for early bird but they let 10-15 handicap people in first, then they let families with small children in, then its A. Wtf are we paying early bird for?

You must be searching in the wrong spot padnuhh.
I fly very frequently and rarely use Southwest bc they are almost always more expensive

Maybe they'll upgrade their shitty IT.

I mean it all depends on the routes you fly. I mainly fly to Saints away games and FLL. SW out of MSY is usually the least expensive assuming you book well in advance.

Going cross country, it pays to pony up for a few more amenities

They swap out planes so much, you know there are going to be flights booked on new system that end up on non-upgraded planes.
I guess it depends on their definition of upgrade…
Premier might just be the first 10 rows and extra peanuts.
