I have and will always believe that having the drinking age set at 21 instead of 18 is one of the most retarded laws on the books, and it serves no purpose whatsoever than to make some people feel better, some very uptight people who struggle mightly at justifying the absurdity of it. I find it truly underscored when i see service men and women denied a drink because they’re not 21 years old, yet will put their lives in harms way for this country.
This whole thing is utterly ridiculous, to think there’s this big difference between 18 and 21 years old and drinking responsibility. My generation was able to drink at 18, and we were seriously no more mature or responsible at 21 than 18. This really is an absurd law.

Lol, I know 10x more people that got in trouble for drinking in their respective college town than I do on spring break. I never did, but some campus's it was a normal thing. Cops would show up to huge house parties and hand out open container tickets left and right.

No way, think of the cashflow and people it employs. How many officers would be at home if this was the case? How many lawyers would not have cases? How many fewer arrests and DWI's(because of lowered BAC for those under 21) have been made because of it?

The law is based off of the statistics of drunk driving accidents and fatalities. It's an actuarial thing.

It's both safety and a business.
It should be legal for college kids to drink and alcohol should be easier to get than other drugs.
We'll know the real truth when self-driving cars become ubiquitous.

I'd be pretty pissed if my 18-20 year old got arrested for an MIP. fricking draconian drinking laws. What a waste of law enforcement resources.

I still have my Spinnakers pass in my wallet from 2014, can’t talk myself into ditching it lol. Usually took my drunk arse 30 minutes to find the damn exit in that place when i was plastered, that place was a maze. One of the nights I talked a girl I had met inside into doing the rip cord outside the clubs on our way back to the hotel. As we were swinging in the air she yakked up 4 loko all over a 30 yard stretch of heavily populated sidewalk. Those poor people can probably still remember the smell today.

My roommate got picked up for shoving a cop who took away his 4 loko at the club when he was hammered a few years ago. He and all the other drunks were taken to a hotel the next morning where “spring break court” was held. Judge gave them all the same option: plead not guilty and have the case moved to a real court, or plead guilty and complete a drug survey and pay $200 fine and the case would be dropped. My roommate was back on the beach hammered with a lighter wallet by 9 am that morning
