About like Mexico and Jamaica, stay on the damn resorts and only take their excursions.

Seriously next time tell them to go to Caymen Islands, Costa Rico, or something under US or British Control

Your son got completely conned, but it's only money. If (probably aren't) they weren't cops, I'd rather just give up the money and keep my life than try to do something heroic and get stabbed or something.

I too have been scammed while overseas when much younger like your son. It sucks.

While America is not perfect, my experience opened my eyes that we in the US are much more honest and overall deal fairly with strangers. We are unlike the vast majority of the people on this planet who are ready to rob you blind. They only care about their own. To hell with everyone else.

Wife and I stayed at a resort in Cozumel earlier this year and she took her rings off and put them in the safe in the room. They were stolen out of the safe, and management told us it was impossible that only 2 people could open a safe without the code set by the guest.

I said great, one of two people have my wife’s rings. Cops were no help and neither was the consulate. It will be our last trip to Mexico.

I am glad you brought this up. When I started reading the original post, I was thinking that I had read that before on another forum.

Sure do. Like I said... it's worked for me multiple times.

No one, including the cruise line, gives a flying frick about your dumb review on google, trip advisor or Facebook.

The last thing any person who goes on carnival or lower end cruises cares about is a damn review.

You’re the pussy encouraging cancel culture like a baby back bitch when it’s the sons fault.

This

The convoluted story in the OP sounds like when Ralphie was making up the story about the icicle falling from the roof and breaking his glasses.

U can’t be serious? “Cigar”?

They were not cops and it was weed he knowingly bought.

Dominicans roll better cigars anyways.

They really do. I know Cubans still have the reputation among the general public as being the best cigars. But that hasn’t been true since the mid-1970s. When the communists took over, the best cigar makers fled the country, taking their cigar knowledge and tobacco seeds with them. It took them some time to get up and running, but by the 70s, the best cigars on the planet were coming from the Dominican Republic.

Damn! My parents took us to the Bahamas back in the late 60's. My little sister and I roamed the West End Island at will. Could have been us.

It is as much the "forbidden fruit" aspect as anything.
