You know alcoholics can't just stop cold turkey?

That is an outrage to modern medicine. Please provide the name and location of this salacious establishment so that I can investigate further.

They used to do that in the 1930s to prevent withdrawals, which could be deadly.

And if you think a beer at Tiger Stadium is expensive...

At a hospital? They probably bill $50 per "medicinal" beer

it is dangerous to stop an alcoholic from consuming alcohol cold turkey.

So, for alcoholics, they are given alcohol while in the hospital to prevent them from going into DT's.

every hospital pharmacy has alcohol in it - specifically for alcoholic pts.

the MD must order the alcohol, quantity and frequency it should be 'administered' and the nurse has to scan it off like any other medication.

I'm sure the taxpayer is taking care of the tab.

Did you not read the sign in front of the hospital?

When I worked for Baxter Travenol in Cleveland, MS we made Glass Bottle IV solution. One of the products we made was Half liter bottles of IV Alcohol. It was a long time ago, but I think it was 10% alcohol in dextrose. Was used to treat alcoholics who couldn't drink.
