Someone Needs to Explain what 99% Means to WWL Corona “Expert”

Long story short WWL radio has some guy who is an expert on the virus talking to Tommy Tucker. He is talking about the “surge” and what he thinks it means for CFB in the fall. He thinks it’s not happening.
Any way, Tucker brings up the President said something along the lines that the virus is harmless to 99% of young people in good health (CFB players fall into that group). Well this guy says what the President said is not true. 75% (I think asymptomatic is actually higher than 25% but whatever) will get sick and a few, A FEW, will go into ICU.
Since everyone gets sick, it’s safe to say that generally getting sick equals harmless. A few CFB players having to go to ICU would be serious. “A few“ out of thousands would be better than a 99% chance of being harmless. Honestly if there was a 1% chance of something serious happening then we should be thinking twice about doing it.

He was fear mongering. PLain and simple. Hospitals in LA were NOT in danger of being overwhelmed. And, still aren't. He's a false expert.

So we are considering getting sick for a few days and recovering something other than harmless. Something that happens to everyone on the planet probably at a min once every other year and they go on with their life with no repercussions?

brilliant logic. If you cut yourself and you heal fully you weren't harmed at all. I mean everyone cuts themselves at a minimum once every other year. They are able to go on with their lives. The majority of those cuts aren't major.
So i conclude getting cut = 99% harmless.

Unfortunately a large amount of the older folks in the area listen and are influenced by this info. To be honest, POTUS was incorrect when he said it was harmless to 99% of young healthy people. It’s actually something like 99.9%.
CFB players have a MUCH better chance of sustaining a SERIOUS injury from you know ACTUALLY PLAYING FOOTBALL than COVID 19.
