They’re weirdos. But so are most people who are obsessed with a singular thing and make it their entire personality.

They probably think you’re a weirdo for caring so much about and harassing college kids over how well they can throw a ball.

I work for the fedgov, and we get really good deals at Disney.

For that reason, lots of folks I work with go there on a yearly basis.

I'll make the trip when my daughter is old enough to enjoy it, but it certainly won't be a yearly event.

Who am I to judge if that's what someone wants to spend their time and money doing?

Some people enjoy things

I always tell this story when the Disney Adult topic comes up:

The wife (no pics) and I were in Disney in the early 2000s.

One night we ate Hibachi at the Japanese restaurant in Epcot.

They sat us next to a couple, probably in their late 30s. The husband was overweight, greasy hair, and a mustache. Kind of like Ignatius Reilly visiting Disney. The wife had a horse face, and was deck out in a sequin Mickey shirt, sequin Mickey shorts, sequin Mickey hat, and rounded out with a sequin Mickey fanny pack.

I was talking to the husband and asked him how long they'd been at Disney.

"Two weeks" he replied

"Wow, two weeks?"

"Yeah, we have another two weeks to go. We do this a few times a year."

So they spend at least 2 months a year in Disney. Sometimes 3 months.

But if they found something they enjoy that much, God bless them.

At Universal Epic today. What a huge waste of money. Isle of Adventure and Universal Studios us worlds better. Brand new park and rides don't even work.

Really?

I was thinking of taking the family there next year. Hopefully the bugs are worked out by then.

It is more for kids then adults. I was in park 6 hours and did 2 rides. Wife got a bunch of express passes due to rides closed. Gave to my older kids and said enjoy. Wife and I are now at Citywalk enjoying the AC.

They should have just replaced MIB and ET at Universal with the two to 4 rides that are worth a damn.

Im a Universal adult I guess. I usually go at least twice a year, usually for Halloween Horror Nights. People have their own escapes. One of mine is travel and theme parks.

It’s the happiest place on earth or so I’ve been told. I took my oldest Daughter when she was 6 in 2007.

I thought it was fun but I don’t understand the obsessed ones with it. I’d rather go to the beach.

After I left teaching, the new teacher in my classroom came to teach 9th grade with a cart full of stuffed animals. The world is full of crazies.

We typically go once a year due to dance nationals being at ESPN wide world of sports. Most of that time it is usually just husband and i going to the parks and we have fun and enjoy ourselves. I don't think we are weirdos but I also don't worry if people think I am.

There are grown men who still play video games a lot.

There are grown people who still collect baseball cards.

There are grown people whose favorite team is the team they have been pulling for their whole life.

I am not saying any of the above is bad... or good.. I am just saying its not a hard concept to understand.

With that said, I don't get it, but I grew up with an older brother and his friends who would call me "gay" if I would watch anything with a princess or tell me other bullshite and at the time I didn't know they were just "messing with me" so I don't really get it, but I understand... If that makes sense.

To be fair I think there's a difference between adults who are fans of Disney and Disney adults. The latter have almost a weirdly creepy obsession with Disney like you might find some weird Mickey Mouse Silence of the Lambs type shite in their basement

I imagine it's something akin to what I feel arriving on campus, enjoying a full day of tailgating, and walking into Death Valley for a primetime matchup...only more expensive.

And more lines.

And worse food.

Not for me...but I'm sure there's lots of things I don't get.

I couldn't imagine going to a nascar race, but people love that.

Not a huge fan of music festivals either
