If they do to the dome, they’re really gonna be pissed. It’s at the convention center this year.

So do the riders from float 14 back just walk to the convention center?

They are screwed as they will have to give statements to the NOPD.

Looks like another fall between a tandem from the pictures on Twitter.

The ol' sneak between the tandem float trick claims another victim.

New Orleans went 39 years without having a spectator get killed by a float and now there have been 2 deaths in the last 4 days. Very sad.

Someone was killed in 2008.

The news is saying it’s an adult male

youre dumb enough to get hit by a float, then I dont know what to tell you. Get the body off the street and carry on.

Ever hear of crowd crush? Not enough barriers in populated areas that result in everyone trying to get in front (past the ladders and structures) that you MIGHT not have a choice but to get run over. I felt crowd crush last year downtown for Endymion and I left. You can’t control it.

Like I said I the other thread, drunk people and/or people who aren't paying attention are going to ruin it for everyone else.

Enjoy watching parades from behind the barricades

This is idiotic. There are hundreds of thousands of drunk, many overly so, and it’s never been like this. It’s stupidity.

It’s just a step over being killed by a train. You know where it’s going, it’s going slow and you know if you end up under it you’re dead. Maybe worse than being killed by a train bc of the speed.

I was told by someone close to the float that the person was pushed. Regardless, people are dumb and this is out of hand.

Couple friends on the float in front, said the trailer was dragging the body down the street, almost completely flat.

You’re not wrong, like 99% reaction, but seems at 15 seconds you can see his legs sticking out and being dragged.

What do you sue for when the victim gets run over climbing between the trailers?

I see tandem floats are the norm now. Are tractors to pull hard to come by or something??

You have thousands and thousands of people trying to get as close as they can to 12-ton rolling floats.

He wasn't a spectator. He was someone who got off the float when he wasn't supposed to in the Dome after the parade was done and the float rolled over him.
