Some parents need to learn the value of corporal punishment.

That’s great and I bet the people on your flights appreciate the shite out of you being a good parent. Kudos

As a parent, I can appreciate a parent at least attempting to soothe their kid, but this woman was clueless. The only solution would have been to jump her shite and let it roll down hill.

If they can't actually, you know, parent, they should at least plan on sedating the kid.

Start with a dose of Benadryl.

8 fricking hours. No way. I'd start with having a conversation with the flight attendant during hour 1. By the second hour I'm having conversations with the mom. frick that. I have a child and she has NEVER behaved like that on a flight. Learn to parent. The kid has to learn to listen to you, be obedient and respectful.
One things start at an early age. This mom is not only clearly over her head, she has zero awareness of others.

This kid is autistic. You idiots have no idea what y’all are talking about. All the parenting tough guys are fortunate you’ve never had to deal with this tragedy.

Regardless of the child's disability, she put 200+ passengers through a living nightmare and the blame rests solely on the mother's shoulders. I can't believe the airline didn't do something about it.

Not the most empathetic response but it is ludicrous that a kid can behave like that for an overseas flight. If it was a flight from DAL to MSY then whatever...frustrating but bearable. This being an 8 hour flight is a different can of worms.

Once on a flight back from Europe (the daytime flight) a young couple were with their young child (12-18 months old). About two hours into the flight the child started crying and was inconsolable. The mother couldn't get the child to feed, couldn't rock them, couldn't sing to them, couldn't walk them around. The mother was so distraught she collapsed into the seat. The father had a horrified look on his face like a man completely beaten down. Every one on the plane could see they were doing all they could. And eventually a few older women came and gave their help and eventually the child quieted down.

Really felt empathy for them and not upset the baby was being loud.

I would have said something to a flight attendant.

Hi LA!

But what would you have a flight attendant do - air drop the kid over the Atlantic?

So over 200 people should be inconvenienced because of one child's disability? frick that. I've known many autistic kids throughout my life & none of them would have EVER behaved like that. It's called be a good parent.

Quit trying to make excuses for a shitty parent.

What’s sad is that the method to make the kid stop is giving him an iPad instead of teaching him that he can’t act like that.

Glad you threw this out there before the outraged parents had a chance to say the childless are assholes and just don’t understand how hard it is and that everyone else deserves to just deal with it I wonder how many parents would fly with kids if we could get segregated planes; 18 and up planes and planes for minors and their parents

Nope. I'm a proud parent and can tell you I'd have spanked the shite out of my kid in the bathroom after 2 minutes of that bs. Not up in here

So the mother can't rent a van and drive because the kid is autistic. frick that parent. frick her right in the pussy. Again. And again. And again.

If the kid is that uncontrollable and that outlandish there's no excuse for putting him on a plane outside of selfishness and laziness on the part of the parent.

I would never take my toddler on a plane. Ever.

Ever.

There’s no place I have to be that bad that I would deal with that shite. I’ve skipped weddings and funerals.

And it’s ok.

When you have a boisterous toddler, or worse, you just don’t fly.

Seems like common sense to me.

I fly with 4 of my retarded kids and they don’t act like that. Only problem we’ve had was one lit a fire in the bathroom and the girls face mask got caught on the folding tray. Hell we don’t even Board first.
