Dear wannabe:
My retirement funds are fine. Unlike you idiots who try the get rich quick play, I moved 100% of my funds to money markets and government bonds in February.
I have farm land and rental properties. I retired last year after 43 years with the same company. I still work 4 or 5 days a month, and collect social security. I have put more into the social security system than you.
I owe nothing.
I purchased a new Honda Pilot for the wife two weeks ago. Paid in full with a check.
I provide financial support for my son and my grandchildren.
My father filed bankruptcy when I was in high school. I got my undergrad at LSU and borrowed nothing. I worked through college. Finished graduate school in 1985. Owed $20,000 after graduate school, and paid it off 5 years later.
I never lived off of the government. My family did not have the means to support me. I never received a “stimulus” check. I owe no one.
You blame others because you are a weak person.

this cannot be overstated, no one from the younger generations have stepped up to be leaders and visionaries, that's why we keep electing geriatrics as POTUS, who else is there to vote for?

Here's some advice from a Gen x er watching both sides of this generational pissing match:
Both of you go frick yourselves.
Both of you go frick yourselves.

Seems like a bunch of poors mad that can't buy child labor goods or illegal labor goods for the cheap no more.

well, that's false. Pretty sure you can find several posts of mine on here saying exactly the opposite.
Lots of respect for my parents and other boomers who didn’t do that, but it was done with the general consent and blessing of that generation, or it wouldn’t have happened at all.

By May Day all these "losses" will be recovered.

Exactly what I did Chicken as I neared retirement. No more investments affected by the stock market. All fixed interest rate investments. Could I have made more money? Sure…but I wanted bird in the hand and it was enough to retire.

Most likely. It is shocking how many don't seem to understand cost basis.

lol we have done this already and have 20 times the money you will ever have . When this tariff stuff plays out it will only serve to explode our savings and help all of your generation jobs will blow up by increasing America'sjob production . Get your arse ready to work because no more free rides

Stop with the factual bullshite. This thread is to make someone feel better about himself who wants to blame others for their laziness.

Everyone I know are millionaires
Posted on 4/7/25 at 5:18 pm to IamNotaRobot
Not quite true lol . The multi millionaires start the selling to make you panics and sell when the prices is going down then they swoop in and buy back their stock and yours . They have been doing this for decades and dumb people get scared when stocks start going down and sell the rich guys buy when they are about at its lowest then when the stocks go back up all the dummies start buying back .

Yep the boomers on the wrong side of life the demoncraps who did it for total control . They also did it to hide all the dirty dealings they have done for years which are still coming out thanks to TRUMP

Wasn’t there a thread a week or 2 again vilifying boomers for hoarding all the money and not letting the younger generations have any??
OT really needs to make up their minds on boomers being poor or being selfishly rich.
Regardless I doubt that a group of people years into retirement have their savings in high risk investments.
They will be even richer

First millennial president JD Vance coming soon. The first eligible millennials turned 35 in 2016 so be thankful Trump actually got elected and didn’t hand an easy election win to Hildabeast.
Don’t have much to say on the actual thread but frick every politician for the last 30 years (probably longer) that’s been kicking the can down the road. Yea it sucks and it may even be a little hard some folks but hot damn how long has this needed to happen.
