Found this series on Youtube and found the variety of descriptions very interesting. The wide range of viewpoints between generations, cultures, and nationalities is intriguing. I can't imagine how many different emotions one goes through during something like that.

I'd prefer a seasoned vet's opinion

Lonnie and Josh couldn't be more different.

That's the part that intrigues me. Not sure if it's a generational thing or if it's just the young guys full of piss and vinegar or if it's just a personal mentality difference.

Kind of silly to interview someone about killing another person, but censor all profanities.

Eh, I've had mixed experiences. Some talk, some don't. It's definitely an tough subject to navigate.

Josh is a trip

I wouldn’t put much stock into the generational thing.. I’d be more willing to bet that it varies from person to person, and not so much generation to generation... who knows

I used to work with a Korea vet who opened up and told me some stuff he said he had never told anyone else. I dont know why he picked me. I didnt even know him that well.

Josh was probably my favorite.

"frick em. He chose his path"

Lonnie don't give a frick either

My dad was Airborne in Vietnam and saw front line combat.

He passed away nearly 7 years ago, but I do remember him telling me one time that killing another man that was just trying to kill him was one of the highest highs he ever felt.

Crazy shite.

My grandfather is a Vietnam vet and now has alzheimer's. Never spoke a word about war growing up but every time I see him now he talks about "that poor boy I blasted in that hell hole." Feel bad for the man

Probably wanted to tell/talk to someone, and he didn’t care what you thought of him afterwards
