HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) - The Hinesville Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was shot by a Chief Warrant Officer who returned home to find his wife with another man.
31-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jermaine Mealy has been identified as the suspect in the shooting, he has been charged with murder.
All of this happened around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the scene to find a man who had been shot multiple times in the chest and stomach.
The wounded man was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville where he was later pronounced dead according to Chief of Detectives, Thomas Cribbs.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the home where the shooting occurred belonged to a husband and wife, the soldier husband returned home from Texas after his wife claimed their house has been burglarized the night before but he did not need to come home.
Mealy was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana but was in Texarkana, Texas for military training.
The Hinesville Police Department did respond to a burglary around 10:45 p.m. on Friday night.
When the husband returned home he found his wife with another man, a fight broke out, and then the man was fired upon.

I don't think he should be charged, if anything she should be charged as the one responsible for the murder.
