Seed oils, sugar, processed meats are actually not conspiracy IMHO. There’s abundant info out there that substantiates their ill effects.

My more general concern is people following social media “expert” advice over the established medical community when it deals with people suffering from actual health conditions…….they find a light with holistic bullshite.

ETA: I am NOT referring to COVID. You all can fight over that.

Is this a serious question?

There is a large group of people who think their cumulative 73 hours of internet research, reading god knows what from what sources, who actually believe they're more informed than scientists who spent YEARS studying scientifically-vetted materials and texts, spent time in labs experimenting, spent time in the field training.

Bring up COVID? Climate change? The scientists don't know shite, according to nearly half the population. They believe the guy who "did his research" online. Unfortunate thing is, much of that research was on sites/outlets/forums filled with the aforementioned conspiracy bullshite.

There are plenty of things to disagree with, for instance, with COVID. The problem is the conspiracies outpaced the facts. Much easier to throw some bullshite out on the internet than it is to test a theory, prove a theory, vet the theory, and publish the theory. Science doesn't move at the same pace as an idiot keyboard warrior. Now that there's been time for these scientists to catch up? Common sense things have been proven true or likely true.....came from a lab, vax doesn't wholly prevent transmission, masks are largely useless, etc. This gives conspiracists "cred". Do we all forget the other crazy shite these people said? That the vax is a microchip for brain control? That Fauci intentionally released COVID on the world? Masks were intended to cause us to lose our identities?

6 year olds should be on their 6th booster.

You do know that your legacy media, corporate media, etc.. is just on air actors reading scripts from Disney and comcast right?

These people aren't journalists.

The internet has allowed everyone to share their thoughts and opinions for good or bad.

You probably believed a chinaman ate a bat that then shortly infected the entire world.

I get it.

There’s been times where I’ve bounced between CNN, Fox, Newsmax, back to CBS and it’s all ridiculous.

You can easily see the agendas of each. All are manipulative.

So, on that, I get where reliable info is harder to mine these days. Hence people lending an ear to the Crazy.

AIDS started with Africans eating chimpanzees. Not the craziest theory given the Chinese are saying it passed from bats to humans in a joint study with the WHO... But could also be a lab leak. Given you can't trust the chinese or the WHO it's tough to tell.

Was is crazy to say Hunters laptop was just misinformation from the Russians?

Was it crazier for folks high up in former administrations to make such definitive claims.

Is trust the experts a good slogan for you people? How about believe all women?

The weather can't be controlled, but it can be manipulated. Ever heard of operation Popeye during the Vietnam war?

For those saying "the government is creating hurricanes".. That's crazy, but a private funded company has come up with a solution that could weaken hurricanes. The idea is pretty simple. Pump water from the bottom of the Atlantic (or any body of water) to the top, top water is pumped to the bottom.

If you want to know more read the book Super Freakanomics. But people will believe anything. You can make up the most ridiculous bullshite and tell it to a crowd of... Lets say 50k. And at least 10% of those people will believe it. People are easily manipulated.

The whole covid saga showed me just how easy it is to manipulate the public and turn neighbors and family against one another. There are a lot of DUMB “smart” people who will believe anything they’re told by the media and govt. Truly scary stuff.
