Social Media at the fingertips of idiots is dangerous

My girlfriend (no pics) is an elementary school teacher. One of her students decided to piss his pants during lunch, in the cafeteria. The lunch lady sent him to the clinic, to get dry pants. The only thing they had to fit him was a pair of girl leggings.
When he came back into class, the boy was perfectly fine. And was joking with his classmates about it. My girlfriend even messaged the boy's mom, to let her know what had happened. The mom just messaged her back "ok."
Well, the boy's aunt decided to take to Facebook and make a big spectacle about it. Saying how the boy was bullied for wearing girls' pants, wasn't allowed to use the bathroom, so that's why he pissed himself, etc.; asking everyone to share her post (in which many idiots have).
Now there's people calling for the pricipal, the lunch lady, and the school nurse's jobs. My girlfriend felt bad (even though she knows the kid wasn't bullied or anything), and asked me how I'd feel if that had happened to one of my sons. I told her that I would hope that they got made fun of and embarrassed for having to wear girl's pants. That'd teach them not to piss themselves.
It's crazy how many people just shared that lady's post, and some even tried getting the local media involved. They'd feel stupid if they knew the truth. Moral to the story, there are a lot of idiots and a lot of outlets for them to share their idiocy these days.

Who's the bigger idiot: those that lie on social media or those that believe social media?

Once they get them kids on the bus, that's the school's problem for the next 8 hours.

I remember in elementary school this kid asked to go to the bathroom and the teacher said no. A little while later he pissed his pants while sitting at his desk and the piss was dripping all over the floor into a big puddle.
Everyone was like WTF and the teacher was pissed.
Looking back, I don't see why teachers don't let people go to the bathroom when they need to go. The only reason I could understand is if a particular student makes it a habit of always going to the bathroom or you suspect they have other intentions than just using the bathroom.

well, it's elementary school so for all we know the kid could be 6 years old, I don't think having him get picked up after an accident with no male clothing for him is that far fetched.
Not saying they shoudl have FORCED him to leave school, just asking if it was an option.
