A lot of good suggestions. You just want to kill time, take the streetcar down St. Charles and back.

We ride bikes around a lot. The Bywater is a cool area, but I don't know if I'd recommend it to someone who doesn't know the area really well. Now that I think of it, most of the things we do here involve alcohol.

You know you can avoid sobriety without having to drink right? For example:

Zoo- On mushrooms (highly recommend)
Aquarium - On PCP and face some personal demons
WWII Museum - On Molly, it's supposed to be a whole different experience
Shopping - on whatever you want, get creative, shite drink Robitussin if it'll do the trick

Just don't waste a perfectly good day in NOLA being sober.

I visit New Orleans pretty frequently, but it's typically with friends with a lot of bars involved

Hmmmmmm, I don't see those two matching up well. One is gonna need to get out of your life. I'm betting on the latter.

Why are you going to N.O. with someone who doesn't drink if you don't have anything planned.

Kinda like planning to go fishing with someone but no idea where.

Riding bikes and drinking is one of the best things to do in NOLA.

Have a free place to stay and just want to get out of Shreveport.

I'm sure you could understand that.

Ghost tours: french quarter, cementary, vampire, Voo Doo, garden district, etc. Take your pick.

You can still bar/food hop with someone who isn't much of a drinker.

I'd compile a list of places with good small plates and pop in around town grazing all day. I'd still drink at each place, but that's your call.

Guess it depends if you want to "do" something or not. I generally bar hop because I like sitting around talking more than seeing an attraction.

Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers at the Little Gem on Saturday nights. It's a restaurant/bar but who says you have to drink? I cannot recommend this place and the show enough.
