Sober for 4 months but....

I've been sober for just over 4 months. I want and have started drinking nonalcoholic beer. My wife is upset with me. I've tried my best to explain that I just love the taste of beer and have no intentions of drinking again. thoughts? I'm I dumb? Is she being unfair? Am I on a slippery slope to relapsing? Has anyone here or people you've known quit drinking and been able to drink NA beer without falling off the wagon?

What does your AA group say about this? Is NA a gateway beer?

Haven't touched alcohol in years.
I drink non-alcoholic beer on game days. Hasn't been a problem.

Tell her to suck it and distract you.

I would stay away from it. Try something new and develope a like for it. I do have experience in this area.

NA beer has a little bit of alcohol in it

If you can do it without the urge to start drinking the real stuff, it's probably ok.
Disclaimer: I know nothing about dealing with drinking issues.

Come on, you know this is a slippery slope. It's only been 4 months.

I've got a little time myself. I don't think it's a problem.

My thoughts are none of us can help what happens between your wife and you. If she is not comfortable with it, our opinions won't change that. I have also never heard of a person liking the taste of non alcohol beer or wine.

I've been sober for around 5 months so I'm right there with you. I really enjoy the taste of beer and it's all I really miss. I don't think there's anything wrong with it but the only near beer I've had that even tastes close to real beer is Bitburger. Any recommendations?

Good question. I haven't asked them. Guess I'm afraid of what they will say. I can admit I'm an alcoholic but I'm not trying to get drunk. I never want that old me back. I just want to cut the grass, shower and enjoy the taste of beer, NA beer. Go to a pool party/bbq and have a beer, a NA beer.

Why do you think they make it?

OP gets into fight with wife.
Wife is pissed.
OP comes to O-T to justify pissing his wife off.
You're pretty good at this whole decision-making thing.

Quit what? Tasting the beer taste?

I think O-Doule's tastes pretty good. Better than some alcoholic beer.
