They already talking about passing another 2% Sales Tax on top of the taxes we already have? How about removing the Council on Aging Property Tax from our property tax bill? Can we vote on removing that from our property taxes come Dec. 7th?

No, they aren’t.

That’s to take to 2% sales tax from unincorporated areas (that was helping pay BRPD and BRPD) and reapplying it for the new STG city.

Net no tax change but now dedicated to STG and city can’t steal it.

No where in that article did it say “another” or “new” sales tax.

I hate that name St. George! Why couldn't they give it a cute French name? I am still going to write Baton Rouge as my address.

I couldn’t agree more. St George is a terrible name.

I use City of Central sending mail there to family bc I’m never sure what to use, BR or even Greenwell Springs. City of Central seems to work and I think the zip code is what’s the most important.

Because the area in question is St. George. It’s not like an area was picked and then named, you moron.

You could write “Butthole, LA” on everything but as long as you write the correct zip, your mail will still get there.

Georges was singularized by the British. Just call it St. Georges and you’re good. It is originally a French name.

Because when the forefathers gave this longstanding community a name they chose to name it after the one thing they all had in common, a volunteer fire department.

Uh that's exactly what happened. Prior to the first petition that area was considered South East Baton Rouge. This whole shite storm started when the Southeast Baton Rouge School district failed.
