So... Why can't you zoom in on Instagram?

Almost defeats the purpose. But only almost.
What's the rationale behind it? Anyone know?
Would make it so much better gram stalking on shorties. I mean they already have the upper hand with all the different filters and all. Let us zoom zoom zoom on their boom boom

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to zoom in on a chick's Instagram pic and have inadvertently liked the pic. Like we're talking bikini pics that are years old.
