I refuse...I have edited a couple of posts above this...DAMMIT! and will allow you to buy me a large double Vodka and Soda to make me feel better.
But technically you were still wrong since the lyrics did not include "Leer" jet...but I won't mention that.

Flying from Nashville to New Orleans. Gave away my Moonstruck festival tickets for Ozzy yesterday. Work.

I actually copied and pasted from a lyric site that obviously had a misspelling.
In real life I'm taking a local customer to the Peabody rooftop party. It should be tight.

Well then buy him/her the drink...sounds like a good time. I saw a recent pic of Carly Simon...I think she has stood too close to the sun...I can't un-see it....

At about 1:00 I'm going to walk out of my office. About 1:25 I'll wish I was stoned in my backyard with a beer and not at work. Around 1:28 I am going to watch the totality. At 1:31 I'll think to myself, "Well that was pretty badass." Then at about 1:35 I'll go back to work and hope traffic clears by the time I leave that evening.

So What's Everyone Doing for the Eclipse? by DustyDinkleman
I'll be working like most people I know, however I did have an investment banker from Colorado tell me yesterday that he wouldn't be able to do any business for the next few days because he was going to Montana to watch the Eclipse and that if I needed anything it would have to wait until next week.
I was like, what the frick is your candy little snowflake arse talking about.
Man kids these days have no fricking clue

I cleared my entire schedule for the day. I'm gonna spend it on my boat in the totality zone

I really hope the teachers don't take the kids out of class and go outside to see it. If you don't have the proper eyewear especially kids you can damage your eyes permanently.

Wife and the kids are leaving Friday to go camping in Smokey Mountains in totality zone. Also going hiking and rafting. Should be a fun long weekend. Oh and we took vacation and skipped school.

Watching and not working because I'm a millennial.

I'll be taking off a couple of hours early to watch it with my wife and son. We're going to be at 98%, good enough for me. We're in our mid 30's so it'll likely be the best chance that we get of seeing one without traveling.
FWIW, it's a world of difference between even 99% and totality.
Put it this way, your 98% will be closer to the experience of those in the 75% range than it will be in totality. It would be little different than a passing dark cloud obscuring the sun.
Compare that to going from noon to twilight in 30 seconds, animals freezing wondering what the frick is going on, winds kicking up because of the rapid thermal variations, and what appears to be a simultaneous sunset in all directions.
If it's in your backyard, don't miss out just because you didn't want to drive an hour. Because otherwise you'll miss out on the entire experience but still wonder what the fuss was about.

Sacrifice my neighbor's pets so the sun comes back.

I'm surprised it took 5 pages for someone to mention sacrifices

At my work they're organizing a big pot luck for lunch and then a gathering outside for an hour where they are supplying glasses for everyone. Told everyone to bring a blanket or lawn chair. They're also supplying ice cream for everyone while we watch. There are at least 50 people in the area I work in.
