Staying inside because it's too hot to stare at the moon-sun.

Government brainwashing device, I won't be watching. I'll be in my closet covered in tinfoil.

For two minutes? You must be talking about sex, then.

I've always been told that watch an eclipse with catch your eyes on fire.

I'm about 30 miles from totality so you better believe I'll be there. My work is allowing an hour for viewing as well as giving glasses, but I'm taking off and going to watch with my family.

Lucky! I'm about that distance too, but work is making me come in. Enjoy it!

we're expecting biblical traffic coming up 24 from chatanooga/atlanta into nashville.
i'm hunkering down and going to a little park in Belle Meade to watch it and keeping as FAR from interstates as possible.
my oldest son took off from work, and i'm pulling 2 kids out of school (because they aren't closed) and my 2yo and wife so we're going to have a pretty big group.
should have 1:30ish of totality.

We've got a family reunion that weekend, it includes renting a picnic shelter in the totality for 2+ minutes on Monday. Forecast is looking decent.
I saw the annular in the early 80's which was at 99% and it was surprising how bright it was outside. Weird shadows but it wasn't too impressive. Back then I really didn't care that much, now it's a bucket list item.

Going up to the mountains to see totality

Yea, it's amazing how just that 1% lets enough light in to keep things from total dim.

fricking paducah kentucky
they will get another freaking two plus minutes total eclipse again in 2024. all without having to so much as walk across the street.
doesn't seem fair.

Driving to TN. My brother's house is in the center of the path of totality. I'm dreading the drive back Monfay though. Hopefully everyone drives responsibly.
Also, FYI if you are in the path you can look at it without the glasses.
