She's either lying or some slick arse grandkids pulled an ole sike-a-loo-loo on her and switched her meds.

I wouldn't have called her a liar, but I would have let her know that she is A. Lying
Or B. Someone switched the pills and let her figure out the correct answer on her own.

How fortunate for the OP that there is no such law or organization.

I got off of prescribex Xanax because they didnt work anymore. Doctor switched me to klonopin and it works but they seem to be more addictive than xanax. I guess each benzo has a little more stick factor.... just like all the other rx

I would have said, "Sorry about that, ma'am."

Then I'd type up a new prescription bottle for monosaccharide, go where she couldn't see me and put 30 Tic-Tacs in the bottle.

Problem solved....

Kaiser in CO sort of does this. They pull out all the medications but they don't go as far as opening each bottle unless it's warfarin at checkout. It's actually pretty nice.

I would have told her she should have checked her package before leaving.

As a Pharmacist have you ever been instructed to issue a placebo?

You mean , from a doctor?

No that's never happened

I wouldn't even have that in stock if a dr asked for it

I have heard of that happening years ago

You must be a young pharmacist.

We are talking BP meds and asthma medication being mixed up?

What could possibly be her motive for wanting more of that and lying to get it?

The only possible motive I see is she couldn't afford it.

Why not just offer to refill it and see if she will pay the copay?

More than likely she is just confused or a mistake really was made. You handled this situation poorly for it not being controlled substances.

If it's an old generic

In all honesty, frick you. You're a retail pharmacist. You make 100,000 a year to count pills. A trained monkey could do your job. Just shut the frick up and dispense the medicine. No one cares.
