Rarely do we, in this age, unless HS sweethearts who grew up in the same neighborhood in a similar income bracket, marry someone who is going to give us a reflection of ourselves. Your in-laws like eating at Golden Corral; your parents would have taken you and your bride to a place like Juban's. We get it. It's most of our stories. And usually, the "family" is worse than the in-laws as far as "trashiness". I bet they enjoyed it.

I married up. Enjoy Shoney's.

If you know what to get, you can get a decent meal for what you spend

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the White Trash at a Golden Corral in the first thirty minutes of sitting at the table, then you are the White Trash.

I mean it's one thing to not go there for your anniversary dinner, but I don't see why people raises fuss about a random Tuesday night.

Come on man. Unless you town is a total shithole cesspool of restaurants, there has to be a lot of better places to eat.

I agree with that. But do you have kids? I freaking loved some damn Western Sizzlin and Golden Coral as a kid.

Fwiw I haven't eaten there in 10+ years best I can remember.

Eta: was it trashy 25 years ago? Lol, my dad was a pilot in the Air Force but maybe we were white trashy too lol

Exactly. I hate responses similar to the one you quoted. "We can't all eat in 5 star restaurants every night!!!1".. as if there's no in between.

What does the day of the week have to do with anything anyway?

So name some better places for the same price? You realize many people don't grow up wealthy knowing what better 'places' are right?

So you really think a chili's or TGIF is so much better it's worth talking about?

What? Those places are shite too.

Like he said above, unless you live in the middle of nowhere, there are plenty of local restaurants making food from scratch at a reasonable price.

I'm not even going to try and debate this if you are trying to use these two places as some kind of benchmark.

Because it is wrong. If you're going to defend something, at least compare apples to apples. Calling out Golden Corral has nothing to do with only enjoying fine dining.
