My only thoughts on this are man, she is ugly as hell.

I have no problem when fanatics are pissed that a movie, play etc. doesn't stick to the original text. But that didn't happen here. As mentioned above, the character's race was never spelled out in the books.
Anyone ever think that maybe the author intentionally left the character's race ambiguous so that as many readers as possible could identify with her? Apparently there are lots of black fans who always thought the character was black.

Also not surprising, is someone on your side of this topic calling everyone who doesn't agree with you a racist.

If that's the case, then this is a non issue

If you're that wrapped around the Harry Potter axle, then you need to get a life.

This board talks about race more than anywhere else on the internet. Why the hell are southern college football fans so obsessed with everyone's skin color?

Because you can't see past the race of a person. It really is amazing to me that people say shite like "that person shouldn't do something because of their race" and then say "but I'm not racist."
Let me guess, you have a black friend, so its cool.

This honestly wouldn't bother me.

I'd hope not
But it does for some people.
It's not like I say it, though.

But she was always drawn as white on the jackets of the books and in the drawings on the chapter pages. And I believe her mother was described as having white skin.

'cause there's never been a woman with white skin who gave birth to a baby of color. . .

Where did I say this? I don't think anyone should say that word because it is terrible, but I also think that anyone of any color should be able to say whatever the frick they want.
