So Louisiana has 537 confirmed cases now

How many of these are in hospital and how many are simply recovering at home? Is there any data on that? This information would give the count some context and perspective.

Well, sort of.
These 537 could have existed for at least that long.
More than half the state tests have been negative. Which if it is as hard to get a test as they are saying then that makes you wonder about all the people who are sure they have it, but haven't been tested.

The number of confirmed cases doesn't mean much. There were a bunch 11 days ago. The increase in numbers is just a function of testing.
But are 450+ just recovering at home with OTC meds? Or do we have a big number in the hospital at risk? It is hard to assess where we really are without knowing this.

I thought they were including positive tests from private labs in these positive numbers, but not in the numbers for total tests done?

I think I had the virus Saturday, March 7 when there was zero cases confirmed in Louisiana.
I bet others had it too before numbers and testing came about.

Someone posted in the other thread that they started adding the private tests to the official site.

Both numbers are on the update - now roughly 2000 tests total now (25%-ish positive rate?)
Still kinda low on tests IMO - 58 members of the Utah Jazz traveling team (team + staff) got results within 4 hours, how are we not able to test 500/day a month after that?
