Bold and baseless? I'm currently in the dating world and have been for the last several years...When you ask girls what they're looking for and what their dreams are, about 70-80% of them are looking for their Christian Gray fairytale man that doesn't exist, and when they get married and their husband doesn't meet their expectations, they find someone who does. I've seen it play out in several marriages and long term relationships.
Anecdotal. Your view is completely biased because you are in the dating world. And woman have always wanted a fairytale Prince Charming.

As opposed to when people used to get married when they were 16? Getting married in your early 20's isn't some new fad.

He should be more slumped over while playing with his kid on a slide. Cause damn doing stuff like that sucks.

I don't think all men are miserable, I'm just making the point that now more than ever marriages aren't lasting as they once did. Girls aren't satisfied with getting flowers a few times a year and being treated right. They want this Pinterest-level romance non-stop in addition to having all of their needs met. It's just not realistic.
Possibly true. No idea. I don't know anyone who Pinterests

My wife and I dated for 6 years and lived together for about 5 before I married her. We had been together long enough that marriage didn't change our relationship at all.
Religions that forbid couples to move in together and have the secks before marriage are a big part of the divorce problem nowadays. You do not know anything about a woman until you're sharing a bathroom with her.

well most women just no longer need a man to take care of her financially so its much easier to walk away.
plus, divorce rates are still pretty high and marital satisfaction is low; plus infidelity is on the rise - so i fail to see how its "childish" to point out current societal trends.

I didn't do any of that stuff when we dated, gotta set the bar low.

He is just having a hard time finding a woman so it must be them, not him.

FWIW, I know that there are airheaded women who are into the whole 50 Shades/Pinterest type of crap... the type of woman who orders Malibu and Diet.. who goes crazy over Melting Pot.. who listens to top 40.. who floods social media with quotes and photos..
But is that really the norm? Is that what "women of today" are?

Why even get married. Must have been for tax purposes

Probably because he realizes how childish the stereotype of all men being miserable in marriage is.
I am usually knighting in any marriage type thread, but you have to get a kick out of that.
It is funny!
And for the record, I am very happily married.

Well I'm not married but that's about the long and short of it according to my divorced buddies.

It is a pretty funny picture, I laughed.
The stereotype of every man being miserable in marriage and if you aren't you just haven't been married long enough or are a wuss that lets your wife walk all over you is annoying though.

The whole "wife is a nagging bitch who never wants sex, but I love her" stereotype is dated and unfunny.
Maybe it is just how I was raised.
I've never seen my mother nag my father. I've never seen him annoyed with her as a person. If Dad goes somewhere, he wants her to come. They don't go out with friends without each other.. they want all of their time to be together.
Exactly.

Nah, not at all actually. The thread is about the societal trends of marriage. Society IN GENERAL is trending towards a certain way of thinking. There are still some realistic girls out there.

Now that I'm older and have dodged a few close to marriage bullets, I don't know if I want to. I like sluts and whores and strippers too much. I see people married with kids and it seems as if their lives are over and they have to trick themselves into hating things that they enjoy doing, because they don't get to anymore.
Life is already hard enough as it is, don't need to be an outlet of rage to some spoiled and or frustrated bitch. I say just worry about money because when you are up, you can have all that..and it goes home when you don't want it anymore. And no one can take it from you unless you say they can.

thank you for your anecdotal evidence; we can now end the discussion

Well actually yeah. If just one marriage isn't miserable, it proves that they aren't all miserable.
