You did the best with what you could. You can't pay for the entire home to get up to code, that's not your job.

This is my opinion at least. You shouldn't have the attitude that you're part of the problem .

Genuinely, I hope that you're right. But quitting Monday morning should solidify that, whereas sticking around may do the opposite.

If it was before your time at said company, then why would they hold it against you?

Give your two weeks notice in writing and separate yourself.

It's just something that you wouldn't want following you, regardless of your involvement.

The OP either sells/builds Volkswagens or rolls Ecoli burritos at Chipotle.

Nothing else makes sense.

Netflix was a good guess too, but I would hardly think them slowing down mobile streaming g would cause someone to quit.

As long as your potential employer does their homework on your prior organization, your timeline there and you as a person it shouldn't matter.

However, you know your line of work better than me so if you think quitting is best then it probably is.

I appreciate both your guesses. But there are more organizations out there doing nefarious shite apparently. It's not all raping the environment and colon cleansing.

OP could also be a Clinton campaign staffer. Perhaps even an spyware upload technician for Lenovo Computer Company.

GTG,

I think your advice is spot on. I appreciate it. I'm just hoping the damage my employer did hasn't tainted my resume.

And to the rest of the OT, if I end up moving on in short fashion, screw it, I'll just share the details

When Enron went down, do you think the people who worked there, who had nothing to do with why the company crumbled, had a problem finding jobs? If you lost your job because the company hit rock bottom, employers will likely see that you were working in a toxic environment that had nothing to do with you.

Have you talked to coworkers about the issue?

FWIW, unless you get into some kind of trouble by staying, keep your steady paycheck until you find a new job. Stay on the boat just a little longer even if it is starting to sink.

Don't rush into a new job that is not exactly what you want.

I know of a few people that worked for Arthur Anderson during/around the time of Enron. No one cared when they went to interview for other jobs following the scandal.

Now that's a new one.

Can you really compare a giant multi national corporation to a small one though?

No. But I think the comparison is valid. One could assume that just because AA was aiding Enron, could they (and a large number of their consultants) have been doing the same for others?

I understand why OP wants to quit. But my advice would be to hang tight provided he's not being asked to participate in nefarious activities.

Golfer does make a good point, as have many here. Hopefully employers can see that I clearly had nothing to do with the scandals of the past.

But as GTG just pointed out. This isn't Enron. This is a company of MAYBE 100 people. It would just suck to be blackballed for the actions of others.
