....and 1 mile west of Livonia there was a big black bear in the middle of the westbound lanes. It appeared it had wandered out onto the road and somebody winged it. He was siting up looking at everybody...looking at him.

I haven't been able to find anything online about it, but it is Livonia we're talking about

Apparently it didn't make it :(

ETA: I officially have no idea if the bear survived or not...according to Facebook, it died. Feel free to clarify.

I bet a polar bear would have gotten much better treatment.

So who's going to protest? Al, Jesse, Gentle Ben, Smokey the Bear, Winnie the Pooh, Ted?

A friend just shared this on fb if y'all haven't seen pic. Said it was near Livonia. Apparently it was injured by a vehicle. Also comments sounded like little fella just ran smack into side of a trailer being pulled. Knocked silly and got up and left area.

I feel bad about the animal suffering before it died but not about the fact there is one less bear in the state

Black bears are becoming pests and are bordering on overpopulation in LA. Time to let us hunt a few.

I have heard from multiple game wardens that 2020 is a reasonable estimate when permits will be issued

Where do they live in LA? I've never seen one in EBR parish.
